This from The Friendly Atheist.

Atheists have been claiming they aren’t religious.

Turns out they’re wrong.

According to one of their own, they can be persecuted for their religious beliefs.

This is a serious problem!

Atheists will have to stop calling for the end of religious thinking since that undermines their own religion.

My guess is that somebody will place a not-so-friendly phone call to the Friendly Atheist.

Remind him that he doesn’t believe in beliefs.

I’m not going to comment further.

We need to let them fight this out amongst themselves.

  1. Atheists are illogical by definition.
    1. The say there is no God, but there is no way of proving that assertion.
    2. The have faith there is no God, but they claim that is not a religious belief.

  2. People even freely admit to watching TV religiously. It doesn’t matter how pathetically atheists want to redefine it, the truth is anything can be a religion if you’re fanatical enough.

    1. Exaaaaaactly.

And everybody is fanatical about SOMETHING. Everyone has a group of ideas somewhere down the line that they hold sacred.

  3. Of course, atheism is a religion. And it’s a dogmatic one at that. They have radical fundamentalist atheists (like in the article), evangelical atheists who go on Christian web sites to de-convert the found, and then your nominal atheists who are just indifferent. They have scientism and naturalism as a worldview, with Arch-Bishop Dawkins and Bishops Harris and Dennett, and they even have their own heretics like Carrier. And, of course, they have their own intellect to worship, so it’s a complete package.

  4. LOL! Right off the bat saying, “thar she blows,” in any conversation regarding a woman, no matter how obscure the reference, is extremely unwise. Somebody fetch me a harpoon, I’ll fix this. 😉
