Some of the most closed-minded people on Earth refer to themselves as ‘free-thinkers.’ I found an article proclaiming that the ‘Big Bang theory was (probably) not how the Universe began. This statement was in the introductory paragraph:

“If you want to know the answer to the biggest question of all — the question of our cosmic origins — you have to pose the question to the universe itself, and listen to what it tells you.”

In order to know where the Universe came from, you look to the Universe itself.

Brilliant! That’s what I do when I’m trying to figure out the origins of bagels. When I pose the question to the bagel itself, and listen to what it tells me; I know that it doesn’t exist by its own power. There is nothing within the bagel that is capable of producing the bagel. It’s so simple that even I can understand it.

So…why don’t free thinkers make the same conclusion? The author explains:

“…because [it]…will have consequences for our universe that aren’t necessarily supported by observations.”

In other words, you can’t SEE the bagel maker when you look at the bagel. Free thinkers are committed to the belief that bagels come from mindless cosmic forces. They call it, ‘Science’ because they used the term, ‘Invisible Sky Fairy’ to refer to something else.

This statement from the author sums things up nicely: “Until the day comes where we discover how to extract more information from the universe than presently seems possible, we have no choice but to face our ignorance.”

We already know our cosmic origins. Jesus appeared on the Earth and gave us the information that could not be ‘extracted from the universe.’ So your ignorance on the subject is self inflicted. God knows that observing bagels won’t tell us the name of the bagel maker. Same holds true for the Universe.

(Psalm 19:1) The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge.
