Christmas will be here before you know it so I’m helping prepare in advance for the sanctimonious virtue signaling that is part of America’s holiday celebrations.

Any person rejoicing at the birth “of a brown-skinned Middle-Eastern undocumented immigrant” is not celebrating Jesus. They are proclaiming their personal righteousness. They must announce their own goodness since there is no company of angels coming down from heaven singing, “Glory to This Thoughtful, Compassionate Human!”

Jesus wasn’t an undocumented immigrant. Joseph and Mary were in Bethlehem to be documented in a census. It was Joseph’s hometown. You don’t immigrate to your hometown. So…whatever brown skinned immigrant is causing you to rejoice is not Jesus.

While it is true that Jesus had brown skin (probably) and was Middle-Eastern, those facts are unimportant. There are (and were) a whole bunch of brown skinned people in that region. There are several things that set Jesus apart from the other Middle-Easterners and every person who claims to be a Christian knows this.

Rejoicing in the ‘undocumented immigrant’ is not following Jesus. It’s standing in front of Jesus. You placed your political identity in the manger and pretend it’s the Christ child. This banner doesn’t say anything about Jesus but it says quite a bit about you.

I hope God puts an actual Christian in your proximity this Christmas whose opinion you value as much as your own. I hope you feel enough remorse about your attempt to obscure Emmanuel that you repent. God will forgive you if you ask because in His perfect goodness and grace, He sent Jesus to obliterate your ugly pride.

That’s why we’re rejoicing.

(Luke 2:1) In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) And everyone went to his own town to register. So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David.
