Greetings, Cultural Warriors standing shoulder to shoulder with Shiloh Hendricks!
It feels good to dish out justice, doesn’t it? I mean, giving the enemy a taste of their own medicine is really, really, really satisfying. Self-righteousness is a rush!
Sure, some will say you’re hypocrites since raising money to reward an act of evil is exactly the thing you condemned a couple of weeks ago. Sometimes doing the right thing requires doing the wrong thing, am I right? Evil isn’t a problem when good people like you do it. This is something that bad people will never understand.
Bad people will use your evil as an excuse to do more evil themselves. They won’t appreciate your noble attempt to demonstrate true justice. They can’t comprehend that your hypocrisy is justified by your inherent goodness. It’s okay to sin when you’re fighting against sin. Darkness is overcome with more darkness.
Be prepared for the blowback, Cultural Warriors!
Those who do evil because they’re evil will raise a ruckus when you imitate them. Stand firm! We need villains to defeat those villains! In the fight against wickedness, doing wickedness is a sound strategy. It makes perfect sense that escalating hate will lead to unity, peace, and love.
And it feels so good to stick it to the bad guys, doesn’t it?!!
(1 Peter 3:9) Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.
