If your gal is asking for something stupid this season, like death to the patriarchy, consider giving her something useful instead: Wisdom.

Tell her that the holiday season is a time to spread joy and goodwill, not bitter ugliness. Tell her that nobody wants to listen to her gripe.

The only reason she’s even thinking about the patriarchy is because she’s been manipulated by evil forces to ignore her blessings. She believes that she has been cheated. She believes there are powerful men denying her privileges and rights that she is owed. She may point to a lack of pockets in her dress as proof of this injustice.

People on Santa’s ‘Naughty List’ (some of whom call themselves ‘pastors’) have tricked her into believing that society will function better when men are replaced by women. Maintaining these beliefs for too long will cause damage to her heart and mind. Perhaps you’ve noticed that people avoid spending time around her (and perhaps you wish you could join them). This is a sign that she’s not okay. If you actually care about her, you’ll stop pretending that she’s a victim and give her the truth.

Her problem isn’t the patriarchy.

Her problem is her own sinful self.

Fortunately, God sent Jesus to fix that problem.

(Genesis 3:16) To the woman he said, “I will greatly increase your pains in childbearing; with pain you will give birth to children. Your desire will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.”
