Remember when you told me that Christians aren’t to judge? You insisted that we’re called to unconditional love and you posted a bunch of scripture to support your position. Remember that?

I do.

As the Middle East spins into chaos, you’re not allowed to call it ‘chaos.’ You can’t call it ‘tragic’ or ‘heart-breaking’ or anything else. That would be a judgment which you told me is off-limits to Christians. I expect you to practice what you preach. Don’t pick sides. Don’t suggest there are ‘good guys’ and ‘bad guys’ because you’re not qualified to render a verdict.

You assured me that Christians must not discriminate. You told me that only God knows the condition of a person’s heart so I’m holding you to it. You don’t know the hearts of the masked men killing women and babies. You don’t know the hearts of those firing rockets into Gaza. Only God knows the hearts of the men who openly declared their goal is to kill every single one of God’s people.

If you post any criticism of either side in the conflict, you’re a hypocrite. If you encourage anyone to pray for the victims, you’re a hypocrite. Unless you’re willing to admit that Christians must exercise judgment, discernment, and discrimination — be quiet.

Since I don’t hold your views regarding judgment, I’ll tell you what I think. The ability to discern right from wrong is one of God’s gifts. You buried that gift in the ground and proclaimed yourself righteous for doing so. You’ll need to ask God to forgive your arrogant conceit.

(Luke 12:54) [Jesus] said to the crowd: “When you see a cloud rising in the west, immediately you say, ‘It’s going to rain,’ and it does. And when the south wind blows, you say, ‘It’s going to be hot,’ and it is. Hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky. How is it that you don’t know how to interpret this present time? Why don’t you judge for yourselves what is right?”
