I blurred the name of this meme creator because he has an even smaller platform than me (for now) and I don’t want to help him attract attention.

Like many other false prophets, this guy (whom I will call Chris because that’s his name) identifies as a Christian. He knows that calling himself a Christian gives him access to ignorant church people. He knows that many Evangelicals will be so triggered by his comparing Taylor Swift to Jesus that they’ll fly into a rage and never figure out what’s actually wrong with his meme.

I don’t know how similar Taylor Swift is to Christ. I’ve never met her personally and the only information I have about her is filtered through publicists and managers. It would be as wrong for me to say she’s not like Jesus as it is for Chris to say she’s more like Jesus than Evangelicals. She may be very much like Jesus. She could also be more like Jezebel. My thoughts about it irrelevant.

What I can say for sure is that since Taylor Swift is practically a stranger to me, I don’t hate her. It is insane to hate people I don’t know and I am not insane. I can also say, without reservation, that my opinion of Taylor Swift will go up if it turns out she’s quite like Jesus. My fondness for a person always increases the more they emulate Christ.

To Chris, I will say this: you don’t talk like Jesus.
