So, you’re embarrassed by Donald Trump’s behavior. You think he’s a bully and rude and unkind and horrible. You want everybody to know that this President (and everyone associated with him) doesn’t represent you!
I’m embarrassed too.
I wasn’t going to mention it because I figured you had more important things to think about. I figured you had stuff going on in your life that was more worthy of your attention. It seemed to me that the discomfort I feel when someone else behaves badly would be so completely inconsequential to you that it isn’t worth the calories I’d burn expressing it.
I mean, my embarrassment is not a virtue and embarrassment on behalf of someone else is irrational. It’s insane to take on emotional baggage for another person. That’s why I’m reluctant to voice my embarrassment. I’m admitting that I’ve lost the battle to control my emotions. I didn’t want you to know what an intellectual lightweight I am.
But since you’re apparently not busy with anything that matters and have time to tell the disinterested public what makes you blush, I’ll make a contribution to this petty dialogue.
I’m embarrassed by you.
