The government has decided that DEI is not a good thing anymore and taken some steps to remove it from official legislature, policies, and procedures. However, there are a lot of people who still believe the purpose of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion was to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. These people will be greatly disturbed by what I am about to say so if you know one of those folks call them up and tell them not to read this.
“It’s okay to be right (and by ‘right’ I mean correct, accurate, or true).”
While it’s ‘okay’ to be right, it is not usually pleasant. Most humans prefer inclusion over truth so being right will dramatically reduce your circle of friends. The victims of DEI indoctrination hold two contradictory beliefs simultaneously:
- All beliefs are equally valid.
- It’s wrong to believe others are wrong.
When you start trying to apply the philosophy that it’s okay to be right, be prepared for conversations that go something like this:
Other: “Everyone should be free to live without judgment!”
You: Can we live on a plantation and own human beings?
Other: “OMG! Nobody is free to oppress others!”
You: So…we need to judge sometimes.”
Other: “OMG! What did I just say? Stop oppressing people!!!”
DEI victims believe it is arrogant to think their views are correct and that’s why they’ll often say, “this is just my opinion.” Everyone has an opinion and every opinion is equally true. It is waaaaaaaaay easier to affirm this belief than to educate those who hold it.
I’m just letting you know what to expect in case you’re planning to assert your Christian faith in some public way. The people who hate you for being right will have zero patience for Jesus claims of actually being ‘the truth and the life.’ (Note: some of those people may go to your church.)
You won’t get into trouble saying some things are right. Prepare for battle when you start specifying what those things are.
(1 John 5:20) We know also that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true. And we are in him who is true—even in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
