Ladies, the purpose of modesty is not to prevent men from lusting. Your outward appearance publicly displays the condition of your heart.

Don’t be deceived.

You know the thoughts you had when you put on your outfit. More importantly, God knows those thoughts too. You seem to know God will deal with lustful men. Do you think He won’t also deal with immodest women? Are you that foolish?

When Jesus taught about ‘gouging your eye out,’ he wasn’t just talking to men about lust. He was speaking to all of us about getting rid of those things that lead to sin.

I see the false prophets have begun their annual “yoga pants are never sinful” online discourse yet again. It’s important to remember, the teaching from Jesus is, “If your yoga pants cause you to sin, don’t wear them.” It’s not, “Tell men to stop looking at you.”

(Matthew 18:8) If your hand or your foot causes you to sin cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life maimed or crippled than to have two hands or two feet and be thrown into eternal fire. And if your eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell.
