Sometimes my keen sense of humor distracts from the importance of what I say. Some people dismiss me because they don’t think comedians are capable of having important thoughts. These folks would be shocked to learn that sometimes I read books and ponder things other than the best way of making fart noises with my hands.
For instance, today I’m thinking about when Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man comes to God except by me.” That’s probably the most offensive statement ever uttered on planet Earth. It would be inexcusably obnoxious if it weren’t true. But it is true.
Right? I mean, you call yourself a Christian so you’re not still on the fence about Jesus, are you? Well, are you!!?
Never mind. Your hesitance to answer the question answers the question. You’re “woke.” You’re following the gospel you’ve learned from garbage sources like Patheos.com. You don’t think Jesus is enough. You think Christians also need the religion of social activism.
Depending on how “woke” you are, you may have already dismissed me on the basis of my gender or skin color. I’m gonna shoot straight with you. You’re in deep trouble. No teaching in the Christian faith allows you to treat me with contempt because I’m a white guy.
But you don’t believe me because I’m a white guy. My criticism of “wokeness” is just a desperate attempt to hold onto my power and privilege. “White guys” like me are only interested in oppressing people who don’t look like us. “Wokeness” is how you’re able to understand my true motivations. Wokeness, not Jesus, is the way, the truth, and the life.
And since I’m easily dismissed (or as I prefer, ‘marginalized’) I’ve included a review of this garbage article from Patheos.com. If you’re “woke”, you MUST read this review because the guy who wrote it has dark skin. Ignore him, and you are a racist.
**THIS WAS CLIPPED “AS IS” FROM COMMENTS IN AN ONLINE DISCUSSION. It was not originally written to be published. **
It’s interesting that the author starts with an example of what could literally be the most offensive words used to address social justice oriented churches so far. He then spends 2 paragraphs building his credibility in the form of explaining his familiarity with identity politics and interaction/exposure to both sides of the argument…. Even stating that he will attempt to be the voice of reason. He then proceeds to shoot his credibility in the foot by the 6th paragraph in my opinion. To claim that those who are speaking out against “wokism” speak in the interest of “denying ethnic minorities have any grievances and white churches have any responsibility to do anything about it.” Its a red flag for where this article is going to go: “these callused anti-woke people don’t want to help and love people”.
And so we see the mixing of categories that are often part of the woke apologetic: equating biblical justice (condemning the guilty & clearing the innocent) with social justice. Within the umbrella of social justice another mixture of categories take place: Christians being concerned with racism & acting on poverty (common sense morality) is combined with affordable healthcare & urging sustainable environmental policy (political policies within the Democratic platform), & ensuring LGBTQI people “have the right to work” (controversial moral issues between the culture & the church… of course framed in civil rights language as though forcing a church to hire LGBTQ clergy for example, is providing a basic right to the oppressed). Its a tactic to get the reader to accept disputed ideas by shoe-horning a social &political agenda into Christianity via the usage of Christian concepts like “imitating Jesus” and “doing what he expects of his followers “.
The fact that he uses Durbin’s controversy to his advantage, equivocates on biblical justice & Christian works, does not distinguish between equality and equity, denies the role of Marxism & Wokeness in the terminology and ideas in the culture today, accuses us of white supremacy (and host of other things), and presents the current push toward social justice as though it is exactly what Jesus did & the prophets commanded, makes me honestly think that the author is either not aware of all the holes in his arguments or is downright dishonest.
Social Justice warriors are not simply following the logical conclusions of Scripture, I assure you. And to fail to recognize the differences between contemporary issues & our western way of thinking and Christianity as taught and practiced by the Apostles makes me think he’s using Scripture as a series of proof texts rather than being faithful to context and making necessary applications
Of course, if you’re really “woke” you can dismiss this “black guy” on the basis of his “internalized racism” which he got from “white guys” like me. He’s been brainwashed by “White Evangelicalism.” The poor guy doesn’t even know he’s being used to keep me in power. The poor guy just isn’t as smart as you.
If you’re not so “woke” that you recognize the lunacy and wickedness of the previous paragraph, there’s still hope. But you need to act fast.
Quit your woke church. Just stay home and read the New Testament. You’re not following Jesus when you’re woke. Social justice is a false god. It is not New Testament Christianity. If you continue taking in the toxic doctrine of “wokeness,” you won’t find God.

Important question:
What’s the funniest sound a fart can make?
Wait a second!
Firstly, fart noises are always funny.
Secondly. Are you still at your church?
I never implied fart noises weren’t funny.
I’m still at my church because I’m in no danger of becoming woke.
Ok. But you did imply fart noises are not important.
So we can change things from the inside if we’re not in danger of wokening?
I implied that some things are JUST AS IMPORTANT as fart noises.
Yes. We can fight against wokeness when we recognize it for the false religion that it is. The people who are trying to make room for CRT in the church are the people who need to get away from it altogether.
