Is your savior an old man on the brink of senility? Does he say dumb things that make you cringe? Are you constantly defending his corruption with statements like, “At least he’s not an orangish, narcissistic womanizer who says dumb things that make me cringe!” Does your savior need you to make these excuses for him?

Or is your savior an orangish, narcissistic womanizer whose personality would be improved by senility? Does he brag about his greatness every time he opens his mouth but you don’t cringe because America “needs strong leadership?” Is this what you say to excuse your savior’s corruption?

You should get a new savior.

Get a savior that doesn’t have any corrupt behavior in his past. Find a savior who actually fulfills the promises he makes. Find a savior who doesn’t lie, doesn’t love money, doesn’t care about elections or politics. If I were you, I’d find a savior that doesn’t make me feel ashamed to call myself his disciple (or ‘supporter’ if you prefer more modern terminology). Choose a savior who stands on his own merit rather than just being ‘better than the alternative.’

“JOHN, YOU JERK!!!! I’ve NEVER CALLED A POLITICIAN MY SAVIOR!!!!!!!”

It is incorrect to think your savior is determined by your declaration. Your actions reveal the identity of your Lord and Master. You told me who you worship when you cast your vote in “THE MOST IMPORTANT ELECTION IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND!!!!!!” It should go without saying but since you seem to require words: My savior doesn’t need my vote. Can your savior calm storms or walk on water? Mine can.

The anxiety, sadness, and anger you’re feeling is unnecessary. To put an end to all your heartache, get a savior who is bigger than politics. Life is astonishingly peaceful when you aren’t always trying to save your savior.
