Christians, you can sit this one out.

Sinners! I want to get to know you a little better. Referring to yourself as ‘a sinner,’ is too vague and impersonal. I’d like to know what specific sins are part of your identity. Please let me know which of these labels you would prefer:

-Sexually immoral -Idolater -Adulterer -Homosexual -Thief -Slave to Greed -Drunkard -Slanderer -Swindler

If you don’t see your sin on this list, please feel free to add it. Whatever wickedness defines you, put it in the comments! Let me know specifically why you’re not better than the pagans.

Sinners, proclaim your wretchedness! Be counted among those who possess the humility to admit they are not new creations. The old self remains. Transformation has not occurred.

Tell me what you’re hanging on to that keeps you from being able to say:

(Galatians 2:20) “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!”
