A long time ago when mankind was primitive and ignorant about many things, there was a group of people that became known as ‘Gnostics’ (that first ‘G’ is silent). The Gnostics claimed to have knowledge of secret things that wasn’t available to ordinary people like me. This ‘secret wisdom’ was the foundation for many religious, philosophical, political, and cultural policies in the ancient world. The Gnostics sought to gain influence over other people by using their mystical powers of understanding.

Today, mankind is much more sophisticated and enlightened so Gnostics don’t exist anymore. Instead, there is a group of people known as ‘Empaths’ who claim to have knowledge of secret things that cannot be understood by ordinary people like me. Empaths claim to feel the emotions of others. A few empaths have told me that they know me better than I know myself. This is an especially powerful form of manipulation because it enables the empath to decide whether or not I’m an ‘authentic’ person.

Empaths have a huge advantage over me when they know more about me than I do. Any time I disagree with her, the empath will accuse me of ‘denial.’ She will insist that I’m not expressing my genuine feelings because she can detect ‘fear’ or ‘pride’ or ‘anger’ coming off of me. The empath prioritizes HER feelings over MY testimony. She tells me that her process of destroying my character will help me ‘grow.’

There is no such thing as an Empath. They are mythical creatures like gremlins or Krampus. You can think about Empaths the same way you think about children dressed as princesses or Storm Troopers. They are harmless when you don’t take them seriously. Just don’t take their chatter as truth.

“Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to your care. Turn away from godless chatter and the opposing ideas of what is falsely called knowledge, which some have professed and in so doing have wandered from the faith.”

(1 Timothy 6:20)

  1. THANK YOU!!!

My son professes to be an empath. I keep telling him that no, he’s not. He can be empathetic but we can all empathize when someone is hurting but it’s not the same thing. He tells me that this is a new generation. I’m old school, stubborn, and just refusing to change with the times. If sticking to truth makes me old school, stubborn, and refusing to change to change, then so be it.
