According to statistics I heard somewhere a long time ago, there’s a sucker born every minute. I’m enough of a sucker to believe that’s true. The population of gullible folks is large enough to require a birth every sixty seconds and it’s possible that estimation is low.
If this was still the early 2000’s, I would now write a paragraph explaining that being a sucker doesn’t make you a bad person. But I’m not going to bother doing that in 2021 because modern suckers are not capable of nuanced thinking. The suckers only read the headline and melted into a pile of “feeeeeeelings.” Nothing I say can help them so I’m going to save you non-suckers the time of slogging through a carefully worded, tone-policed paragraph.
I’ve seen ads for this organization more than once:
Since the suckers haven’t made it this far into the article, I’m not going to mince words. This program (and others like it) are dishonest, selfish, and evil. Participating in “Stop AAPI Hate” makes the world worse, not better.
The above paragraph should have cleared out all the remaining SJW’s and “woke Christians” leaving me with a reader who is actually willing to try and comprehend my outrageous point of view. How can I possibly be opposed to Stop AAPI Hate? I’ll tell you.
The organization’s name shields them from criticism.
Nobody with any sense would publicly utter the phrase, “I am opposed to stopping hate against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.” The people at “Stop AAPI Hate” know this. They have deliberately given their organization a name that makes it easy to dismiss critics as hateful racists. The “Black Lives Matter” organization pulled the same stunt. When you oppose the organization, you are accused of opposing the cause.
This makes me question the organization’s true motives.
The organization is sketchy.
There are no names attached to the organization. No founders. No affiliated supporters. It’s just a website with a “Charity Navigator” five star rating that isn’t clickable. When you look up the organization on Charity Navigator, it’s not there. The “national report” they tout as evidence of hatred toward Asian people is a collection of incidents from anonymous people.
Are Asian people mistreated in America? Yep. So are black people. So are Native Americans. So are immigrants. And…so am I. I’d wager that you have been mistreated a couple of times too. You may even know some people who hate you. And if they make that hatred public, they’ll immediately lose public support because nobody is pro-hate.
Nobody is Pro-Hate.
The website claims that hate has risen against Asian America Pacific Islander communities. You’re supposed to take their word for it since there are no actual statistics to support the claim. I don’t think the COVID-19 pandemic is responsible for increased hate but even if it was, there’s nothing to indicate AAPI people were specifically targeted.
They bravely proclaim, “Our communities stand united against racism.” Can you name an organization that claims, “Our communities stand united in support of oppression?” Opposing racism is something that every civilized, rational American citizen does by default. There is no need for an organization dedicated to advancing a belief that most of us already possess.
Hate is not illegal.
American citizens are allowed to be hateful. The Stop AAPI Hate organization exists because hate is not illegal. I mean, if collecting donations from kind-hearted people by promising to fix a non-existent problem isn’t hateful, then what is? Like it or not, Americans are free to hate anyone and everyone which brings me to my final point…
The organization can’t deliver on their promise.
They claim, “Together, we can stop [hate].” Only a sucker would believe them. Hate has been around a looooooong time. An anonymous group of internet hucksters isn’t going to end hatred by publishing a list of “hate crimes.” Donating money to this organization won’t accomplish anything other than making you poorer. Your money will not reduce the amount of hatred in the world. It will, however, increase the net-worth of godless opportunists.
The only effective weapon we have against hatred is religion. Specifically, Christianity. Jesus Christ makes it possible to end the hatred that thrives in human hearts. Every other method of combating hate is for suckers.
There are hundreds of sinister organizations like StopAapiHate.org preying on the good intentions of gullible people. It’s time to expose these anti-hate groups for their hatefulness.
