When someone refuses to clarify their statements, it’s safe to assume that person is a deceiver. Currently, when you hear passionate prattling about immigrants, deportations or imprisonment, the odds are good that the prattler will refuse to answer this question: ”Are you talking about legal or illegal immigrants?”
A simple way to deceive gullible, emotional Christians is to use the term “immigrant” to reference everybody living in this country without differentiating between legitimate and illegitimate citizenship. The term, “Illegal immigrant” is an oxymoron. It’s like saying, “law abiding criminal.” An immigrant, by definition, has legally immigrated to this country. Immigrants are citizens.
People living here (or anywhere) illegally are rightly called, ‘criminals.’ Emotional, gullible Christians are easily fooled into believing that Jesus intended us to lump him into the same group as traffickers, politicians, and murderers. If you know even a little bit about Jesus, you know he shouldn’t be categorized as a ‘bad guy.’ The ‘least of these’ are victims of injustice. Those are the people Jesus is comparing to himself.
Families are often ‘ripped apart’ when justice catches up with criminals. Gullible Christians are manipulated into believing ‘the system’ is responsible but that is like blaming your broken leg on gravity after you jump off a roof. Criminals are responsible for their family’s suffering, even if it takes years for the law breaker to get caught.
Jesus is the only legitimate victim of injustice. The rest of us deserve death. God help us if we ever start to think our righteousness makes us equal to The Lord.
(Matthew 25:42) For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’
