“Charity Begins at Home.” Balderdash! Even though this isn’t actually an anti-woman sentiment, let’s be freed from it! Charity absolutely DOES NOT begin at home. Where does charity begin? I don’t know. The Pastor doesn’t deal in answers.
“A Woman’s Place Is In The Home.” – Preposterous! Women don’t belong in homes. Where do they belong? Her place is in the street, or a field, or on the moon, or in a board meeting, or on an assembly line, or the front line of a battle. Anywhere but home!
“Do Not Let Your Beauty Be External.” – Absurd. Women don’t want to be appreciated for their minds. Christianity keeps women down by suggesting they have beautiful spirits. To be truly liberated, a woman must be valued for her body and nothing else.
“I Do Not Permit A Woman To Teach.” – Outrageous! A woman is free to teach anything to anybody. She shouldn’t be confined by sexist standards like expertise, integrity, or truthfulness. Under any circumstance, a woman’s place is in a pulpit!
“Seen And Not Heard.” – This saying is usually applied to children, not women, but since we’re already indignant let’s go ahead and fume about it. HOW DARE YOU SAY WOMEN SHOULD NOT BE HEARD!!!??
“Submit To Your Husband.” – Nope! This is why women don’t belong at home! Only an abuser expects his wife to let him take charge of stuff. A loving husband submits to her and trusts that she has a good reason for refusing to do likewise.
I like women. I really do. Some of the most important people in my life are women. My mother, my wife, and my daughters are all women. I truly love all ‘my girls’ and it annoys me when wicked, narcissistic men try to exploit them with empty promises of freedom and empowerment.
