It makes me laugh when wicked people tell me to be nice but when they literally admit there are no consequences for being ‘not nice,’ it is hilarious!
“John, my brother! These people are lost! Instead of mocking them, share the love of Christ! That’s what they need!”
Of course you’re right. They need Christ. Let me ask: how many atheists have you converted to Christianity? My number officially stands at zero (’0’) confirmed conversions. I’ve shared my faith with all manner of heathen for many years without a single new soul added to the Kingdom (as far as I know). So I’m eager to learn your technique.
You have a technique, don’t you? My method (ridiculing their useless religion) is not winsome. I’d love to see how you let atheists know they’re fools (God’s term, not mine…) without making them mad. I’m hopeful your procedure for making disciples is not just, “Scold other Christians for doing it wrong.”
At some point, you’ll need to tell the god-haters that it is impossible to just ‘be nice.’ They won’t like hearing that and will respond in many ‘un-nice’ ways. They won’t see their hypocrisy (because they are fools) and will proceed to hurl hate at you. At that point, I’ll watch to see how you turn that angry horde of mindless narcissists into devout disciples of our Lord.
Oh! You might be thinking about saying something like, “John, my brother! We don’t ‘convert’ anyone to Christianity! God changes hearts, not us!” If you sincerely believe that you’ll stop criticizing my method of evangelism.
I know it’s easier to confront me than to enter the lion’s den with actual enemies of God. We weren’t called to do the easy thing.
(Proverbs 19:28) A corrupt witness mocks at justice, and the mouth of the wicked gulps down evil. Penalties are prepared for mockers, and beatings for the backs of fools.
