Nuts and bolts are equals and should be collaborative partners, not members of a hierarchy. If you’ve ever assembled a love seat, you know that mutual respect in the nut/bolt relationship is crucial to building a sturdy piece of furniture.

Yet, some nuts are unhappy about the way they interact with bolts. They feel they’re getting shafted. These forlorn wing nuts bemoan their function and decry the system of oppression that keeps them from becoming bolts themselves. The disgruntled bits of hardware never realize that two equal bolts can’t build anything together.

I’ve got a little experience assembling love seats. It’s a challenge getting everything to hold together. The irrational grievances of self-centered nuts don’t help me provide my family a place to sit. I don’t care to hear the hot take of a nut (or bolt) that doesn’t know its own role in a living room suite.

(1 Corinthians 12:17) If the whole body were an eye, where would be the sense of hearing? If the whole body were an ear, where would be the sense of smell? But as it is, God arranged the members in the body, each one of them, as he chose.
