Some kids shouldn’t be allowed to watch Bugs Bunny. This isn’t a popular take but if I was primarily motivated by the desire to be popular, I’d just share memes like this one without commentary.
Any kid who can’t understand that Bugs Bunny is not real, should not be watching cartoons. It won’t cause the kid any confusion when Bugs wears a dress because the kid won’t see Bugs…or the dress. There will be no chance that the kid will drop an anvil on anyone’s head because the kid won’t see Bugs…or the anvil.
Any adult who can’t understand that grown men wearing dresses will confuse some kids, is unqualified to talk about children. Simply comparing Bugs Bunny to Drag Queens demonstrates a lack of critical thinking skills which renders the adult opinion worthless (even if that adult has never dropped an anvil on anyone). There is an important difference between a drawing of a bunny in a dress and a grown man wearing women’s underwear dancing for tips in front of Kindergartners.
Any person who encourages parents to, “Get over it,” in regard to ANY concern that parent may express, should have her access to children immediately revoked. Anyone who usurps parental authority is a villain. It’s only the ‘bad guys’ who think they’re morally superior to the child’s primary caregivers.
Some kids need more protection than others. If you didn’t grow-up to become a Drag Queen despite seeing cartoon rabbits in mini-skirts; good for you. That doesn’t give you any right to tell me how to raise my kids. Get over it.
(Psalm 74:18) Remember how the enemy has mocked you, O Lord,
how foolish people have reviled your name.
Do not hand over the life of your dove to wild beasts;
do not forget the lives of your afflicted people forever.
