There are quite a few silly people filling up my social media wall with silly talk about morals that ‘have nothing at all to do with any religion.’ These silly people want me to believe that ‘inclusion’ and ‘diversity’ and ‘tolerance’ are floating around detached from the ‘outdated superstitions of bronze age goat herders.’
I blame Christians for this.
The church has been telling the culture for decades that it’s possible to be a ‘good person’ without being a Christian. We’ve told our neighbors that it’s not our place to judge them because we’re not perfect ourselves. We’ve made it clear that some of the heathen live moral lives too. In fact, some of the pagans put Christians to shame!
We’ve assured our godless culture that God loves them unconditionally. It doesn’t matter to God if they break marriage vows. God doesn’t care about sexual sin. God isn’t bothered by dishonesty or selfishness. We have hinted that God would like us to try and imitate His holiness but He totally knows we will fall short and that’s okay! (And we think those Christians who keep urging everybody to live righteous lives are annoying too.)
Because of us, the culture believes that Christianity is just being ‘nice.’ Getting along with people matters more than telling the truth. So when the pagans tell us the Ten Commandments are divisive ‘religious talk’ while the rainbow flag is a symbol of beautiful inclusiveness — that’s on us.
So, on behalf of generations of Christians who should have known better, I apologize to you silly pagans. You should have been told A LOOOOOONG time ago that you can’t be a good person without God. Morality doesn’t float around like an invisible pocket of purity, waiting for you to breathe it in.
(Psalm 16:2) I said to the Lord, “You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.” As for the saints who are in the land, they are the glorious ones in whom is all my delight. The sorrows of those will increase who run after other gods. I will not pour out their libations of blood or take up their names on my lips.

Jesus Christ. If we are being Christ like, doesn’t that mean we are being like Jesus?
Some people are so confused that they don’t know what they are saying. Rationalizations work that way, I suppose.
It seems that when wander from the Way, we babble. Make meaningless excuses. Then we do whatever it is we want to do. Eventually, we become so shameless we don’t even make excuses. We just wonder what is wrong with the people who refuse to leave the Way.
