I suggested that a predator is a person who is super-interested in making sure your children know about sex. There were a lot of responses in the comment section that were along the lines of, “John, you jerk! Predators want children to be ignorant so they can prey on their innocence! The CLERGY EXPLOITS UNEDUCATED CHILDREN!!!”

Some of my fellow Christians are truly bothered by these kinds of comments so I’m going to explain what motivates people to make them. In a word, ‘hatred.’ In more than one word, ‘they are blinded by hatred for Jesus and the church.’ Hatred warps the human mind and makes rational thought impossible.

The bible teaches that children should not be abused by ANYONE. It makes no exceptions for members of the church. In fact, those who are deemed ‘leaders’ are held to even TOUGHER standards of conduct. Abusing another human is sin no matter WHO commits it. There is no double standard for priests, prophets, or preachers of any stripe.

“John, you jerk!! CHRISTIANS ABUSE KIDS ALL THE TIME!!! THERE ARE PREDATORS IN EVERY CHURCH ACROSS AMERICA!!!!!!!!!”

And when the church learns about these predators, they are removed from fellowship (and often prosecuted). Abusers within the church are acting CONTRARY to the teaching of scripture. There is no Christian doctrine that tolerates mistreatment of children. Christians are forced to follow biblical rules.

Outside of the church, people make up their own rules. At the moment, there is consensus that children should not be abused but that is changing rapidly. A growing number of secularists are redefining the meaning of ‘abuse’ so they can use your children for their personal gratification. They know they can’t just admit that so they’re pretending the REAL predators are all inside the church. They pretend to be outraged by pedophile priests while simultaneously grooming children to believe that Drag Shows are just ‘playing dress-up.’

Christianity is the last safe haven for children in America. The predators know this and that’s why they’re attacking the church. When they successfully convince you that preachers are a bigger threat to your kids than the people who hate God, they’ll have you (and your kids) right where they want you. Predators prefer victims be ignorant.

(1 Peter 2:9) But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
