There is at least one Christian person out there (I know because I’ve met her) who believes it is WRONG for Christians to seek political power for the purpose of imposing their religious views on the culture. According to her, Christians should strive to be ‘politically neutral.’ Our religious bias makes us ineligible to hold public office in this ‘secular’ society.

Sooooooo…….

It is her opinion that we should give political power to folks who are not influenced by religious convictions. Our leaders should not prefer love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness or self-control. Lawmakers shouldn’t show favoritism for lawful behavior.

Christians are biased against murder, rape, stealing, child abuse, and sexual depravity. We need leaders who are more open minded. Unless we move past the superstition that sin is bad, our nation cannot progress. Remember, Jesus never ran for political office!

Politicians should have no religious convictions. The only candidates who are worthy of your vote are those who refuse to take a firm stand on any issue. The last thing we need is an extremist who sees everything he does as an act of worship. Trust the vaguest policy makers.

Christians need to humbly step aside and let men dressed as women take charge. We need to stop acting like Christian ideology is better than human depravity. We need not assume that the blind are incapable of leading. The best leaders are those who are the farthest away from Jesus.

Does that sound about right?

If so, lemme ask a question: “Where did you get the idea that Christians aren’t supposed to influence the culture with our faith?”

(Galatians 5:22) “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.”

  1. Your Christian friend does not understand a thing about the Bible, and knows absolutely nothing about human nature. Such a “Christian” is actually practicing a vile pagan religion of self loathing.

From Psalm 1: “1 Blessed is the man who does not guide his steps by ill counsel, or turn aside where sinners walk”

If our political leaders are Godless, then Christians will be required to accept ill counsel and walk where sinners walk.

From Aristotle, we know that man is the one and only political animal. That means human beings associate with each other through rational speech and friendship. Therefore, it is natural for all people, Christians included, to be political.

The Book of Genesis tells that God gave Adam the divine purpose of tending the Garden of Eden. Therefore our families, cities and nations must be governed justly. Politics is the art and science of governing justly. Good politics is man loving his neighbor though a society based on justice.
