Scripture tells me that it is a fool who says there is no God so it’s not surprising that the social media streams of Secularists are chock full of foolishness. These folks are so lost and out of touch they’re still quoting Richard Dawkins!
Pointing to genetic disease as evidence that nature is not intelligently designed is tan example of foolishness. “Intelligent design?” the fool mocks. “There are 4000 genetic diseases! How could anyone believe there’s any design here?”
Brilliant.
It is akin to finding a pair of pants with the seat ripped out and saying, “Intelligent design? These pants have no seat! How could anyone believe they were made on purpose?”
“John, you jerk! God is supposed to be all knowing and all good! Why are there so many problems when the designer is alleged to be perfect?!!”
That is a fair question with a perfectly reasonable answer which you will hate because you are a fool. I’ll go ahead and answer you anyway because the Bible tells me I have to give reason for my faith.
God designed disease too. He orchestrates disasters, famines, pestilence, war, and every other event that you would describe as a ‘problem.’ The Creator of all things is not limited by genetic diseases. He isn’t defeated by birth defects. He doesn’t fear death. He is responsible for everything that exists in the material Universe. Everything. Your mistake is thinking that problems for you are problems for God.
One of the dumbest habits of Secularists is declaring that there is no God and then complaining about the way reality works. If there is no ‘design’ in the Universe, then there is no such thing as ‘tragedy.’ Disease isn’t ‘bad’ and ‘health’ isn’t good. Everything is just ‘the way it is.’
If I were you, I’d do whatever I could to get on God’s good side so that disease wouldn’t be a problem for me anymore. (I told you that you wouldn’t like the answer.)
(John 1:3) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
