Sometimes Christians can be too enthusiastic about God.

“God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life!”

You respond by snarling, “There is no God!”

So Christians go into “Full-Apologetics-Beast-Mode”:

…and on and on and on and on because you reason in a circle and circles never end.

At the risk of telling you what you believe – I’m guessing you don’t WANT God to exist.

You don’t lack belief.

You have an over-abundance of pride.

If God exists you aren’t the smartest, strongest, most righteous being in the universe.

This is the most offensive thing about God.

He is better than you.

So when Christians talk about living with God forever, that’s not “good news” to you.

You don’t want to spend eternity playing 2nd fiddle (or 3rd..or 4th!)

God makes the rules so you cross your fingers and hope there is no God.

The faith of the faithless leads to despair.

A one way ticket to hell.

But maybe I’m wrong!

Maybe science or something.

Perhaps your life is a just brief chemical reaction in a pointless eternity.

Wouldn’t that be great?

  1. Fantastic, John!

Remarkably like their father below, with whom they get to enjoy a surprise “warm homecoming”, when they shed this mortal coil. They learned well from him and his minions while alive. Pride is an insidious, ego-inflating, self-pleasing temptation for those who could never understand the initial pains of humility and importance of ego-death.

    Nicely written, John.
