So they had to shoot a gorilla at the Cincinnati Zoo.
Whether or not you agree with that course of action depends on a couple of things.
- Are you a gorilla?
- How do you feel about unsupervised children in your habitat?
Some people believe that shooting the gorilla was inappropriate.
They’re demanding “justice” for the gorilla.
Over 140,000 people have signed a petition.
No gorilla signatures as of yet.
The gorilla population has been strangely silent.
Perhaps they know something.
Maybe they knew what Harambe would do.
We don’t know what a gorilla will do with a 4-year old.
But we know what a gorilla does with luggage.
And a toddler isn’t nearly at tough as a suitcase!
Toddlers aren’t supposed to be dragged around.
Notice they don’t have handles or wheels.
It’s been suggested that zoos are the problem.
Serious minds think we should outlaw zoos.
That won’t work.
Remember when we tried to outlaw alcohol in the 1930s?
Make zoos illegal and gorillas will just go underground.
Organized crime will flourish.
Bootleg apes will be trucked over state lines.
Speakeasy zoos will pop up in basements and backrooms.
The black market will flood with bathtub baboons.
I think we can chalk this up as a one-time event.
Parent will be extra cautious at the zoo.
People are smart about stuff like that.
It’s what separates us from the gorillas.

The Cincinnati Gorilla incident was no laughing matter. Well it is now. LOL.
Perhaps we should just put the toddlers in suitcases?
That’s hilarious!
You’re both HILARIOUS! If only people could laugh these days…sigh.
