Somebody recently said these words to me: “You can’t have it both ways, and if you do want Christianity in schools, you’d have to be okay with every other religion getting its fair and equal share, too.”
This would be a strong, compelling argument if it wasn’t utterly absurd. Don’t believe me? Let’s apply the logic to some other school related activities and see what happens.
“If you want basketball players on the court during games, you’d have to be okay with every other student athlete getting fair and equal playing time too.”
“If you want desks in classrooms, you’d have to be okay with every other type of furniture getting fair and equal space too.”
“If you want pictures of US presidents on the walls, you’d have to be okay with every other world leader getting a portrait displayed.”
“If you want history textbooks in History classes, you have to be okay with every other textbook getting fair and equal usage in History class too.”
“If you want nutritious food in the cafeteria, you’d have to be okay with every type of junk food getting fair and equal availability.”
“If you want teachers in school, you’d have to be okay with every other profession getting fair and equal representation too.”
I’m gonna take one more whack in case you still think this horse has a pulse. “If you want true things taught in school, then you have to be okay with every lie, deceit and deception getting fair and equal treatment.”
Education is never neutral. People claiming to teach with no philosophical agenda are either stupid or evil. In either case, they’re wrong. Removing Christianity from school does not make school ‘religiously neutral.’ It just makes school anti-Christian.
(Matthew 28:19) “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

The last two sentences before the Scripture quote is what makes every “anti-religion in school” supporter’s head explode. They just refuse to admit that THEIR system of practices and beliefs that they live by IS their religion…. It’s the very definition of religion.
