I’ve noticed that when people who claim there is no God talk about death, they always reference innocent children. They ONLY reference innocent children. It didn’t upset the heathen when Osama Bin Laden was killed. None of them asked, “How can a loving God stand-by and allow brutal terrorists to die?”

But when a child dies, God needs to explain Himself – PRONTO! The pagans are plenty mad at the God they don’t believe exists and that always sends Christians into a panic. “No! No,” we shout, “God is good all the time! He doesn’t kill children!”

Then we blather about sin and free will and “the fall”. We become God’s defense lawyers, arguing that He hasn’t broken our arbitrary laws of righteous conduct. We plead God’s case to lawless judges believing our testimony will improve their opinion of The Creator of The Universe.

We should stop making excuses for God’s behavior.

God killed every child that has ever died throughout history. Every. Single. One. In fact, God is directly responsible for the death of every person who ever lived.

It’s helpful to keep this in mind for when heathen quote Old Testament passages like this one:

“Why is my lord weeping?” asked Hazael.

“Because I know the harm you will do to the Israelites,” he answered. “You will set fire to their fortified places, kill their young men with the sword, dash their little children to the ground, and rip open their pregnant women.”

Hazael said, “How could your servant, a mere dog, accomplish such a feat?”

“The Lord has shown me that you will become king of Aram,” answered Elisha.

2 Kings 8:12

That’s Elisha (the ‘Man of God’) explaining what God is going to allow to happen to the Jews (‘God’s People’). It’s right there in black and white. Instead of tap-dancing around the truth that is obvious to every God-hating heathen – own it!

Say this: “Yes. God kills people. Not just some people. God kills ALL people.”

** pause for dramatic effect **

Then say: “God is the reason that people are alive in the first place. Not just some people. God gives life to ALL people.”

That’s what Christians believe, isn’t it? Why be timid about giving God credit for the things He does? God isn’t timid. He takes full responsibility for everything the heathen complain about.

The Lord said to him, “Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord?

Exodus 4:11

It is a fool who blames God for death while refusing to praise Him for life. A fool reasons against the One who gave her a mind. A fool shakes her fists at the One who puts strength in her arm.

The people who condemn God for ‘allowing a child to die’ cannot explain their own existence. Instead of praising Him for their lives, they curse Him for the life he gives to others. Don’t ask why God kills children until you can explain why God didn’t kill you.

“For just as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, even so the Son gives life to whom he is pleased to give it.”

(John 5:21)
