It’s on the news almost every day.
And unless news sources are just interested in sensationalism
and shock value
to get ratings and sell advertising
It must be true!
People don’t know that children shouldn’t be locked in a hot car!
Headlines are glutted with this important, parental message.
So there isn’t room for other critical, child safety tips.
But don’t worry.
I can help.
With a list of other places where you should NOT leave children.
hot trucks
microwave ovens
washing machines
pits full of poisonous snakes
the desert
the ocean
grizzly bear dens
shark tanks
the wings of airplanes
between the gears of heavy machines
That’s about it.
Oh, wait!
Almost forgot!
…dangling over a balcony rail
A famous pop star did that once.
Dangled a kid over a railing.
Almost everybody agreed.
Bad idea.
There weren’t thousands of related news stories…
“DON’T DANGLE YOUR LITTLE ONES!”
No quotes from health professionals,
“It’s bad for children to fall from great heights…”
But that was years ago.
Parents were smarter then.
Knew not to copy horrible behavior .
Now, we assume that ALL people
need to have the truth spelled out for them.
“DON’T LEAVE KIDS ANYWHERE YOU WOULDN’T WANT TO BE”

Your summary line is why I am a home educator. 🙂
You are a home educator because of me?!! I’m flattered but caution you about the dangers of allowing strangers too much influence over important decisions…
HILARIOUS! How am I supposed to get anything done now that I can’t stop laughing?!?
