Here’s a comment that was recently made about this article.
A little antagonistic and lacking the love that Jesus taught. Do you think Jesus would post something like that? Or do you think he would exercise patients and kindness.
I get these kinds of comments frequently.
Unless I write about stuff nobody cares about.
Which is difficult.
People care about almost everything, including:
- My taste in flag patterns.
- My official position on global warming science.
- My acknowledgment of privilege.
- My admission that the country is deeply racist.
- My approval of baby dismemberment.
- My celebration of same-sex activity in all forms.
- My ‘minding my own business’ about unwed pregnancy.
- My agreement that legislation will fix our problems.
And the thing that concerns people the most:
…How closely my life mimics that of Jesus Christ.
Your observation is that I am ‘lacking the love that Jesus taught…’
…you are right.
Do I ‘think Jesus would post something like that’?
No.
Jesus would post something better.
Much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much, much (x infinity)
…better.
He’s God.
…I would let Jesus guest blog anytime.
Would Jesus ‘exercise patients’?
If those patients needed exercise.
…he is ‘the great physician’ after all.
It’s possible that he would just heal them and skip the exercise.
Whatever He did it would be…
…with patience and kindness.
But I honestly don’t know the specifics.
I can’t predict what Jesus would do.
His thoughts are higher than mine.
I don’t know the mind of Christ.
You’re correct.
I’m not loving the way He loves.
…not even close.
He’s God.
With absolute sincerity I say to you:
…don’t look to me for how to love like Jesus.
I’m setting a terrible example.
…but it seems you already knew that.
I’m never going to love like Jesus.
That’s why I need Him so much.

I have never found your writing to be unkind or lacking in wisdom.
We are all helpless and hopeless without Him.
The criticizers just don’t know that yet.
I bet the same person would say that, “Jesus is a little antagonistic and lacking the love that Jesus taught” if they read something like Matthew 10:34-39. Jesus practices tough love when needed (quite often). But what does Jesus know? EVERYTHING!
