In the wake of horrific mass shootings, sensible people immediately ask, “What was that gun thinking?” We’ve had so many shootings in America, experts are finally able to recognize certain philosophical patterns that cause guns to be triggered.
Facebook is a critical tool for probing a gun’s emotional well being. Often, the Facebook profiles of violent guns describe firearms as “a loner”, “socially awkward”, “politically charged”, and “angry”. Without exception, these guns have unstable people on their friends list. Experts suggest that when a gun spends a lot of time in the company of hateful, unlawful people, that gun is at risk of going off.
Guns are easily influenced. They aren’t grounded in a moral code. Guns are atheists – they lack belief in God. The lack of religious convictions makes guns easy targets for indoctrination. Guns are gullible. They believe the rhetoric of predatory people and are persuaded to do evil.
Guns never learn from their mistakes. A gun cannot feel remorse, empathy, or regret. This is a psychological problem within the gun itself. It’s a mental disorder. It’s a disease. These weapons need our help. Instead of setting our sights on demonizing and vilifying guns, we should be protecting them.
We need a foster care program for firearms. Guns must be rescued from hostile environments and placed in loving homes. There, they’ll be surrounded by decent, civic minded people who will nurture them. Guns in good homes never turn to crime. Homes that teach values and ethics produce guns of exceptional caliber.

I think that’s what a lot of moderate gun control advocates actually advocate for ๐
Sounds like you’re slipping one by the “No gun control ever” crowd ^_^
I haven’t met anyone who suggests there should be no gun control ever. Do these people have a web presence? I would like to read how any advanced civilization can rationalize anarchy regarding guns.
I eat that crow – that was hyperbolic misrepresentation of real people/views. However (and more to the heart of what I truly believe), I do think a lot of soundbites/solitaire internet commentss/headlines easily come across that way. The debate often feels like Anarchy for Weapons vs. Weapons for military only (if that).
For an example of how the debate can feel that way even from Conservative representatives, see this linked NRA backed article. It demonizes “Gun Control Supporters”. Surely, we can activate critical thinking and realize that it’s not LITERALLY anyone who supports ANY gun control. However, I doubt that use of that term in this article promotes emotional shouting matches, rather than civil discourse and attempts at understanding.

typos abound”I’ll eat that crow” and “I believe that use…” rather than “I doubt tat use…” in my final sentence.
lol, oops
Laws for guns…no!
We have been foster parents now for over 10 years. Not once has a firearm assaulted anyone while in our care. We’re not perfect by any means, but we do our best! It has been a challenge at times, but mostly joy, to see our guns reach the caliber we always knew they could.
๐John, I would love to start a newspaper and feature your articles!
This country needs you. You could run for the office of Sanity Restoration.
I second Randyโs sentiments about your idea for fostering firearms! ๐๐
Thanking God for you,
Katy
Foster care for firearms.
Brilliant!
