Christmas is almost here!
It would be a shame if your disbelief caused you to miss another holiday!
This interview with Tim Keller will help you put Christianity into perspective.
First, as always, Tim Keller is a rock star.
The guy is almost impossibly polite, articulate, reasonable, and intelligent.
If you haven’t heard of him before, consider this an introduction.
Now, get one of his books and read it.
Second, rules!
Rules and regulations!
Christianity is NOT whatever we declare it to be.
Christmas is NOT whatever we declare it to be.
Celebrating the holiday in ‘your own tradition’ misses the point entirely.
Third…gifts.
Truth spoken in love is a gift of immeasurable value.
That is permission to embrace faith!
What a glorious present to find beneath the tree!
It’s not too late to abandon your Grinchy ways.
The New York Times (of all sources!) is shining a light this year.
Give it a read.

Not related to this post at all…just an FYI
Guess who is on Focus on the Family right now? LOL, that would be you, John Branyan.
Sirius XM radio is a great thing.
This is actually an “encore” airing. His first appearance was earlier this year and voted one of the “most liked” programs of 2016! 😀
Well, contrary to what some of his bigger fans say, he is actually quite funny! Interesting really. The guys I work with are pretty much a heathen bunch. Actually got some chuckles from a couple of them, as I let the show play on my work van radio as we were all doing our thing early this morning before folks headed out to do work. Never know what got planted there. So…big amen to the Christian comedy thing.
Well, here’s the link to the full episode, if you want to pass it around. I think it’s supposed to be available here for just a couple of weeks:

Merry Christmas to all here! Been watching all the fun but too busy to play. Great job from these parts as always.
Two points only. I agree with CCW on the age of the earth. There, that is resolved.
Two…Sunday. God gave us the greatest gift of all. Himself.
Peace and goodwill to all.

Agreed – Tim Keller is a rock star. His most recent book – “Making Sense of God” – is a must read. I’d call it a prequel to “Reason for God.”
He discusses the new book here …

Important question:
Does Tim Keller know how old the Earth is?
Hi Sweet Cheeks –
He would probably say its somewhere between 6,000 and 13 Billion years old – give or take. I tend to agree.

Never heard of this bloke before. One of the most pleasant Christians I have ever listened to. Nothing really new, but he would be far more entertaining to engage than someone like William Lane Craig.
