I know you think the most important thing a Christian can do is get along with everybody. The primary commandment according to popular theologians is, “Be nice.” You’ve internalized the dogma that, “They don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.” However, in your efforts to accommodate every depraved doctrine dreamed up by denizens of darkness; it’s really not necessary to congratulate people for their sins.

When a couple of dudes announce that they are paying to have children delivered to them from a pair of surrogate mothers, you are not required to applaud them. You can just say nothing. It’s unlikely that anyone will notice your silence but even if they do, you don’t have to justify it. You never need to explain the reason for keeping your mouth shut.

Celebrating the transaction is dishonest (I’m still only talking to Christians. Pagans are free to celebrate any unholy event they choose). You know that if God intended men to become parents he wouldn’t have created women. Pretending that ‘love is all that matters’ is stupid. When it comes to producing children, biology is all that matters. Babies can be made without love. It happens every day.

You don’t need to climb up on your soapbox and denounce the wretched sinners. Don’t worry about creating a spectacle. I know it makes you uncomfortable to force your beliefs on other people. Be consistent. Don’t force your unbelief on other people either. Never support people in doing things that you know will lead to their destruction.

When wickedness happens before your eyes and you’re not prepared to rebuke it; be quiet. Your silence won’t help anyone but at least you won’t be making things worse.

“For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.”
