Some Christians say stuff to me like, “John, you jerk! Quit antagonizing the pagans!! You’re all wrong about them! Most of them don’t care what others believe and just want to be left alone and not have others forcing their beliefs on them.”
LOL! You’re joking, right?
“No, you obnoxious jerk! This is why non-believers hate Christians!! You’re driving people away from Jesus!!!!!”
Yikes. Some brother or sister in Christ needs to set you straight and since I’m right here, I guess the responsibility is mine.
You’ve been duped by the heathen. You actually think that if we ‘leave the pagans alone’ they won’t ruin our shared society. You’re assuming (falsely) that lawless rebels are capable of creating a culture that is something other than a chaotic hellscape.
“Keep your religion to yourself,” is a phrase bad people use to shut-down gullible people. A person proclaims her religious beliefs with every public word and action. The only way to ‘keep it to yourself’ is to move to Antarctica. You won’t influence anyone in that frozen wasteland. But if you’re going to live in civilization, then you’re going to force your beliefs on people ALL THE TIME.
You’re supposed to already know this. The Bible told you (more than once) that the way you live your life reveals your beliefs. The content of your heart comes out in your character. This is the reason you’re told to imitate Jesus. He is the only true religion.
The godless also reveal their beliefs in the way they live. Work ethic, relationships, language, temperament, hobbies, interests, spending habits, and personality proclaim a pagan’s deepest convictions. Despite their words to the contrary, they do not ‘keep it to themselves.’
It is impossible to hide your beliefs. They are on display every time you interact with another human.
To summarize: Christians should stop getting duped by hypocritical heathen. Righteous people must force their beliefs on wicked people or goodness will be replaced by evil. I’m willing to ‘antagonize’ a few fools to keep darkness from swallowing my family.
(Hebrews 10:35) So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. For in just a very little while,
“He who is coming will come and will not delay.
But my righteous one will live by faith.
And if he shrinks back,
I will not be pleased with him.”
