If you’re a person whose theology is dictated by best-selling contemporary authors, here’s something you need to know. It’s okay for Christians to date now. God doesn’t look down on traditional courtship rituals anymore. Purity doesn’t matter. In fact, purity is hateful and if you were a virgin when you got married; you owe everybody an apology.

Josh Harris convinced a lot of people that Christians ought not be sluts. His book, “I Kissed Dating Goodbye” poisoned millions of minds with the outrageous idea that sex is sacred. The consequence of this reckless teaching is thousands of people hold unnecessarily high standards of behavior. Impressionable youth grew-up thinking sex was profoundly different from shaking hands. They ruined the best years of their lives with abstinence. Harris condemned a generation to a prison of sexual ethics.

But you can forget about all that now. Harris is sorry about it:

I want to say that I am sorry for the views that I taught in my books and as a pastor regarding sexuality. I regret standing against marriage equality, for not affirming you and your place in the church, and for any ways that my writing and speaking contributed to a culture of exclusion and bigotry,

God forbid we contribute to the culture of exclusion and bigotry. I can’t stand bigots. And I won’t associate with anyone who excludes anyone!

If you’re a person whose theology is dictated by best-selling contemporary authors, here’s something else you need to know.

I have undergone a massive shift in regard to my faith in Jesus. By all the measurements that I have for defining a Christian, I am not a Christian.”

Josh Harris – Author who taught a bunch of Christians about dating.

Harris made that comment for you. He knows you’re not very bright. You can’t connect the dots by yourself. When a Christian author apologizes for his Christian teachings, it means he’s not a Christian anymore. Here’s the important question you must now answer: Do you stay with Jesus or go with Josh Harris?

At the risk of being labeled a hateful bigot, I’d let Josh go his way. He doesn’t seem to know what he believes but that doesn’t stop him from writing books. His next book, “Kissing Jesus Goodbye” will probably be a best-seller. Then, 20 years from now, he’ll apologize for writing it.

And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

  1. He is wanting to be “relevant”… I figure he was never in Christ, or he is wanting to run a bit…

I do believe that since he is so “out there” with this “new/old news” then it is open for observation… and critic… yep

  2. My mom read Harris’s book…she didn’t agree with all of his points or restrictions, but she could tell he wrote from a good heart. People got mad because they put the book on a pedestal that it was never meant to be on. I think Harris caved because he couldn’t reconcile why the world opposed what he was taught God said. (I mean…the world is supposed to love the ways of God, right?)

Last I looked God’s plan/rules for marriage for marriage were set long before any book was written. If we hear or read something we can’t reconcile yet, best solution is to go back to the original source. But, I think Christians have forgotten that God really does exist. He’s not just a dusty book on their nightstand.

    But, hey….. maybe that’s just me. 😕

  3. This is the Christian version of being “woke”. Josh Harris seems to be falling right in with the culture of believing me in the church are terrible and everything we do is to harm women and make them feel bad. It’s not the church that calls men to spiritually lead their families that would be God who called for that.
