In my opinion, the State of The Union speech is pointless.
I don’t know the word for what happens in the background during a pointless speech.
But that’s the word I would use for Nancy Pelosi’s clapping.
I know you’re thrilled by her powerful display of resistance.
I understand.
You take joy where you find it.
If a smug grin from an elderly politician fills you with euphoria, I kind of envy you.
And pity you.
On the one hand, you’re ignoring the reality that Trump is President and Pelosi…is not.
You live in a fortress of make-believe where petulance counts as productivity.
It’s a safe space that protects you from the harsh truth which is:
Nancy clapping is an impotent gesture of defiance.
Just like your Tweets.
And everything else you’re doing to “resist”.
But don’t stop!
Keep resisting!
Because watching you celebrate temper tantrums is what makes ME happy.
Flipping off Donald Trump is all you require of your heroes.
That makes me laugh.
I take joy where I find it.

A couple of nasty, disrespectful people did that at one of JB’s gigs: applauded strangely, with sarcastic smirks on their smug little faces. I got up and did a Nancy Pelosi right back at them.
The whole thing got very meta. Maybe it’ll start a new craze? Entire countries applauding Trump and JB with sarcastic smirks on their smug little faces, and Trump and JB responding in kind!

Ironically, the Democrats are pushing for the type of government in which that sort of disrespectful display towards the national leader would have had her sent to the gulag, if they decided to show her some mercy.
I was actually more impressed with her hand signal control of the Dems sitting, standing and applauding. I was hoping for a roll over or play dead command but was disappointed.
The bunch of White Clothing, sour-faced, Pelosi mirror minions were ridiculous.
Yes, it was a nightmare watching her orchestrate lawmakers who are supposed to be intelligent and able to think for themselves. “Play Dead command”: that would have been great for the country.
