So…you’ve deconstructed your “old religion” and thrown all of those superstitions out the window. You’re now 100% ‘religion free’ and a much better, happier, person.
Meh., I don’t buy it.
I don’t believe your new superstition is better than your old superstition. There’s no evidence that your deconstructed faith is any different from the legalism you claim to have left behind. You’ve changed the names but you’re worshiping the same gods as before.
The chains of fundamentalism are still wrapped around you. There is no patience or love for anyone who disagrees with your dogmas. Any critics of your new ‘religion free’ faith are dismissed as simple-minded sheep. When I say, “Jesus is Lord,” you call me unenlightened. You refer to your self-worship as ‘critical thinking,’ but you don’t think about why you have so much confidence in your thoughts. Why trust a brain that evolved without purpose? That’s the question that a deconstructionist should ask!
If you were truly a critical thinker, you’d be skeptical of your skepticism. Criticism isn’t just for other people. Rejecting old ideas isn’t the same thing as learning new ideas.
(Proverbs 12:15) The way of a fool seems right to him, but a wise man listens to advice.
