The memes have spoken!
This one:
This one:

And this one, a quote from God Himself…
But my favorite is probably this one:

Okay, memes, message received.
Don’t judge people because I don’t know their story.
I haven’t walked in their shoes
Sorry! I’m assuming they wear shoes.
I’m being insensitive toward the bare-footed.
But I wonder…
As you issue your verdict on judgment,
Do you realize, memes, what you’re advocating?
(Advocating means ‘encouraging’ or ‘standing up for…)
Apathy.
(That means, ‘not giving a crap’…)
Judgment is the first step in forming an opinion.
Without judgment, I don’t know what I believe.
Figuring out what I believe requires investigation.
Investigation requires effort.
Effort requires at least a little passion.
Passion leads to conviction.
And conviction makes me conclude that my opinions are true.
…which is judgmental.
And that’s bad.
Very bad.
Good people don’t judge.
Right, memes?
Good people, just don’t care.
Apathy is the noblest trait a person can achieve.
That’s what you’re preaching.
Complete indifference to each other’s circumstances.
Sounds like Utopia to me!
So here are some new memes.
Written to advance the cause of apathy.
“Don’t pay any attention to me or my path if you haven’t walked my journey.”
“Don’t notice someone just because they sin differently than you. Leave them completely alone.”
“Don’t care. You don’t know what storm I’ve asked her to walk through. -God”
“Don’t think about me ever. You can’t handle half of what I’ve dealt with so don’t take any interest in it.”
I’ll leave it to you the artistic types to dress up these memes.
Put them on pictures of somber looking girls or crying children.
Or just ignore them.
And good for you if you do!
Apathy at work!

Just some other Bible verses that people “forget” about when they tell others not to judge…..
“Stop judging by mere appearances, but instead judge correctly.” ~John 7:24
“Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait until the Lord comes.” ~1 Corinthians 4:5
“What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? God will judge those outside.” ~1 Corinthians 5:12-13
“Or do you not know that the Lord’s people will judge the world? Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life!” ~1 Corinthians 6:2-3
Great thoughts, Bill! Thanks for posting.
There is a difference between using sound judgment and being judgmental.
Here is an example of using sound judgment.
“Hey, that man just rammed a group of sunbathers with his dune buggy! That was a BAD thing to do!”
Here is an example of being judgmental.
“Hey, that man is a complete waste of skin an will never be able to receive mercy and forgiveness.!”
Our society advocates this approach.
“Hey, that man rammed a bunch of sunbathers with his dune buggy, but we don’t know how hard his life has been, so we aren’t going to judge him. Tra la.”
Puleeeze.
John, you are spot on.
Great example fanci! I believe “sound judgment” is also known as discernment and wisdom. These things USED to be valued but are now considered “intolerant.” Whenever I see a “COEXIST” bumper sticker, I use “sound judgement” to conclude that the owner of the vehicle would probably consider me “judgmental” because I have the crazy idea that contradicting statements can’t both be true. Of course that would mean the person was intolerant…right?
First thing I’ve disagreed with you on. You can give someone a lot of caring attention without being judgmental. Can’t you? Or are we not using “judgmental” the same?
