Apparently, my screen shot blog posts are hard for people to read on their phones.
So I’m trying a new format.
I don’t like it as well because it seems less ‘artsy’.
If you phone people like it better…let me know.
Here’s a brief bit of stupid from one of the regular nitwits.
A Brother in the Lord recently had a family scare. His daughter had a run in with a table saw and now her hand is badly damaged. Having put out the initial prayer request, he updates us periodically on the surgery performed by the skilled and able doctors and her progressive healing.
For him it seems quite natural, as it once did for me, to give credit to the God of the Bible for the knowledge, skill and execution in the operating room of those incredible and talented doctors who did the work that the God of Bible was seemingly absent to perform Himself.
KIA was apparently expecting God to reach a gigantic hand down from heaven and suture the wounds.
But of course, we all need to believe that the God of the Universe is watching out for us… even if he seems like He wasn’t able to keep this brother’s daughter safe from a table saw, or some Midwestern towns safe from tornadoes, or children from being born with Cancer… but I digress.
You didn’t cut your hand on a table saw, get sucked up in a tornado or get handed a cancer diagnosis. Apparently, God is looking out for you, Pastor Mike!
I wanted to let the Brother know that I was pulling for him and his daughter. So I left him a comment on his post hoping to encourage him in Solidarity.
A note of encouragement from a depraved heathen! That would certainly lift my spirits!
Praying that God continues to do nothing, but allows the doctors to do what they do and the natural and biological healing process to take its appropriate and necessary time. How did God allow this to happen in the first place to one of His precious ones? Oh well, i guess he was busy making sure aunt mae got just the right parking spot or helping uncle bill find his car keys. Either way… it’s a frightening thing to see your kids hurting. I’m glad she has at least you and your wife to be there for her. Best regards.-kia

How did God allow you to do this in the first place? Why didn’t he shove you into a table saw so you wouldn’t be able to type? Oh well, I guess He is busy proving His patience for fiendish prigs who see fit to mock Christians in the midst of their suffering.
I’m glad you left Christianity and quit pretending to have even a shred of selfless compassion. Best regards -jb
This would be a great time for the God of the Bible to step up and demonstrate to the world His love and care for His People in a tangible way that would be impossible to mistake as anything other than Divine Answered Prayer. But alas, to this Brother in Christ, it doesn’t really matter. He’ll keep attributing to God the beneficial actions of People helping People, while simultaneously refusing to ‘credit’ Him with the negative, harmful and even deadly events.

My comments seem to work fine. Mike’s fixation with my kid seems really creepy too. I went to his place to ask just who he was praying to so that God would keep doing nothing. No answer yet. Ark said his little protege was being ironic. Preacher Mike said he was being encouraging. Fyi, nobody in my house is mad at God over this. I don’t see anything in the Bible where God would protect us when we fail to pay attention to what we are doing. On the other hand, her knowing He is there has helped her immensely.
Obviously, most people would doubt that Pastor Mike was trying to “encourage” you.
But I still think you should interpret it encouragingly anyway! The fact that your family has retained joy speaks well of you all! It drives the “deconverts” crazy because they get mad at God and you haven’t.
Your daughter’s faithfulness proves Mike’s selfishness.
I hope THAT encourages you. 🙂
It was quite encouraging thanks much. Oh, and the doctors did do a wonderful job and that hand will be back close to 100 percent eventually
Marvelous!
Thank God for minds, creativity, skilled professionals, and scientific advancement!
I read their rant, Wally. How predictably vapid. Let me get Mike and Ark’s logic there. We can praise science (instead of God) because natural laws allow them to develop better medical practices. But we can dismiss God because He only gave them the natural laws and a mind with which to figure anything out at all in the first place. Right, they are nitwits.
Mel, you are being very generous with the word nitwit.
It never ceases to amaze me how these non-thinking anti-theists want God to prove Himself by directly micro-managing and intervening in every situation of their lives…but they don’t want Him interfering with their lives or telling them what to do. Got to love the incoherence.
Right. God should stop hurricanes and table saw accidents but allow selfishness and pride to go unchecked.
