Because I’m waaaaay out in front of important issues, I already wrote about “Vote Common Good” waaaaay back in February. To my surprise and consternation, everybody with whom I’m acquainted doesn’t read my blog. I’m certain this is true because an acquaintance recently suggested that Donald Trump and Adolf Hitler have similar political styles and so I should “check out” the “Vote Common Good” website. So I’ll repeat myself in the hope that a few more of my allegedly Christian acquaintances can avoid the humiliation of advocating for this really, really, really, stupid cause.
“We believe that many Christian voters recognize that their faith calls them to oppose the policies and approaches of the Trump administration.”
The first stupid sentence on Vote Common Good’s “What and Why” page.
I believe that as a Christian voter my faith calls me to oppose the policies and approaches of any administration that is not aligned with Christianity. But if you want me to oppose the Trump administration, you need to tell me which policies are unchristian.
The folks at “Vote Common Good” aren’t really interested in criticizing the Trump administration from the Christian perspective. I know that because toward the bottom of their “What and Why” claptrap I found this:

There is no “New religious imagination” that doesn’t contradict Christianity. Christian theology is perfect. Any “new” imaginations are guaranteed to be heresy.
And when a transformation won’t happen “without sustained effort,” you should wonder why that transformation is supposed to happen in the first place. Forced transformation isn’t how Christianity works. The decision to transform is voluntary. Then, it is God who makes the “effort” and “sustains” the transformation.
“Vote Common Good” is a sham. It exists to hoodwink weak-minded Christians into believing that electing Democrats brings about “common good.” Jesus accomplished “common good” for mankind when he rose from the dead. He doesn’t need help from Democrat activists.
If you identify as a Christian and you’re spending more words criticizing Donald Trump than bragging about Jesus, turn off CNN and crack open the New Testament. Or quit telling people you’re a Christian. Either way, stop sending people to “Vote Common Good” because it’s a website for dummies.
“But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse!”
Galatians 1:8
