TAX THE RICH!! TAX THE RICH!!!
TAXXXX THEEEE RIIIIICHHHH!
Please, be quiet. You are making a fool of yourself.
“John, you jerk! I deeply care about people in need!!! You are a disgusting apologist for billionaires! They’re hording wealth while innocent people suffer needlessly!”
Shhh. You’re not qualified to decide whose suffering is ‘needless.’ The Bible says that all things work for the good of God’s people and that includes suffering. Just because you don’t understand the purpose of struggling, doesn’t mean the struggle is ‘needless.’
Be quiet. Your assumption that rich people can end suffering is false. Rich people also suffer. You would see that if you weren’t blinded by envy and hate. Greed is something you have in common with many of those rich people you despise. It doesn’t look better on you than it does on them.
But if you cannot be quiet, then speak gratitude. Every breath you take is a gift from God. You have no claim to the blessings God gives anyone else. You are owed nothing. Your cries for taxation are not compassionate. They are the obnoxious wailing of an ungrateful child.
If you must speak. Give thanks. You already have much more than you deserve.
(Psalm 49:5) Why should I fear when trouble comes, when enemies surround me? They trust in their wealth and boast of great riches. Yet they cannot redeem themselves from death by paying a ransom to God.
