Every cloud has a silver lining.
It’s what we say to make ourselves feel better about disasters.
It demonstrates our eternal optimism.
It also demonstrates our ignorance about what makes up a cloud.
The 2016 presidential election can be likened to a cloud.
A cloud that spawned an F5 tornado.
Tornados don’t usually have silver linings.
But this one does!
The cyclonic winds of depraved corruption will lift Hillary into the Oval Office.
When that happens…
…my schedule will free up.
There will be no need to ‘keep up’ on politics while Hillary is President.
Nothing that comes from her administration will be the truth.
For the whole of her political career, she hasn’t ever, ever, ever, ever spoken a fact.
She knows integrity is a liability in American politics.
She knows character doesn’t matter to voters.
Honesty will flee the Executive Branch the instant Hillary takes her ‘oath’.
Reports on Hillary’s reign will be a cascade of subterfuge, deceit, and prevarications.
She’ll be mythological.
Just a collection of axioms conjured from the minds of her political sycophants.
I’ve got no interest in following the fairy tale.
No need to listen to a single speech.
I can spend my time doing other things.
Maybe I’ll take a pottery class.
Or maybe I’ll take up eastern meditation.
If I learn how to empty my mind of all thought…
…I’ll be better prepared to vote in 2020.

If you can overlook his stance in Divine Command Theory, and how the Israelites and other proponents of genocide were actually doing those slaughtered innocents a favour as the inevitable sin they would have suffered didn’t even get a chance to be a factor.
How cool was Yahweh for thinking about this?
Kill the little shits before they get a chance to be naughty.
And of course there’s a Craig’s stance on animal suffering. His rationale is seriously Top Drawer Mensa thinking. I mean , who couldn’t side with a mind that has so much compassion for animal and kids.
Well … not me fore one.
I suppose one has to be just a little bit special to be a Craig Fan. I obviously don’t fit the completely heartless mold.
Very close …. these days he makes my teeth hurt after a couple of minutes. 🙂
Such a deep thinker.
Such a deep thinker.
How would recognize one, John? You’re a Christian?
Zing!
Got me again!
You gonna argue that you’re not a thinker?
Oh, I think all the time, John.
I think about what to eat for dinner, lunch, breakfast. Ore what to cook even, if I’m on chef duty.
I think really hard about whether Liverpool will have a chance of winning the premier league.
I think about our clients, the dogs, cats etc etc.
Occasionally I think about you. Granted not that much, and usually in connection to the religious indoctrination you have allowed/encouraged your kids to suffer.
But I can’t likely change that, so it is usually only a passing thought when the subject of Stupid Things and Their Idiot Proponents I like to Blog About arises.
He’s on a roll today, Dad!
I see at least three possible Freight-backs in that comment. 😉
Also–make sure you catch the part about how he doesn’t think about you very often. It’s important, because you’d never know from how often he’s commenting over here.
How mean of you Amanda; that you would deny me this minor humorous respite from my pointless atheist life?
So who will you be voting for, Donald T?
Nope.
You do realise George W Bush isn’t running this time around, I hope?
You should probably just bite the bullet and vote for Mrs. Clinton.
The word on the street is that KIA isn’t voting for either of the Big Parties, either.
I assume you’ve made the George Bush comment to him, too? (And you’ve encouraged him to vote for Hillary also, right?) 😉
I haven’t visited his blog in a couple of days.
And why would I mention anything about George W Bush to Mike in any case?
So you are or are not voting for Ms. Rodham?
What would Jesus do?
Stay home and shag Mary Magdalene if he had any sense!
Right, why would you say anything to Mike? You only annoy Christians who don’t vote for “Ms. Rodham.” Everyone else gets a pass.
*Yawn*
As I said, I haven’t visited his site for a couple of days. Stop being so whiny and petulant.
Besides , Trump will win so who cares?
I haven’t visited his site for days, either. He has been talking about voting third party for MONTHS.
I’ve come to realize that “whiny and petulant” is your way of saying, “yeah, I’m stuck with the truth and have no other answer.”
I’ll talk to you about who I’m voting for after you go bother Pastor Mike to answer the same question.
Why does he get under your skin so?
Is it because you realise he knows more than you care to admit?
Lol. Yeah, Ark.
Well, at least with the Don, you know he is a Genuwhine god-fearin’ Crispyun’, right?
And he loves cats, apparently.
Should be right < up your ally.
I have no idea what you’re talking about.
Do you?
Mostly.
Let me lower the bar slightly. For you.
If you vote for Donald Trump you are assured he is a genuine Christian – like you, in fact!
How cool is that?
I’ve already told you I’m not voting for either of the major party candidates. But–of course–it doesn’t matter what answers I give to your ridiculous, meandering questions. You’ll continue having a conversation with yourself regardless.
I’m a Christian.
That’s the only reason we’re having this “conversation.”
Here’s a meme for you– http://static.quoteswave.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/It-takes-a-great-deal-of-bravery-to-stand.jpg?98abbe
Are there any other candidates?
Are the Republican Party going to force Trump to stand down?
Third party, Ark.
Libertarians and Greens and Independents…
There are always other options.
KIA and I agree.
Remember?
Well, yes, it’s similar all over I imagine.
Who have you got your eye on?
Darrell Castle and Scott Bradley. Constitution Party. I also like Evan McMullin. But it doesn’t matter. Any vote for a party other than Democrat/Republican is a good vote this year.
That Bradley guy looks like a forced birther so he’s a no no.
Still reading about McMullin.
By all means, make sure you let me know how much you hate them all…
I’d actually be kind of worried if you didn’t. 😉
Oh, I don’t hate anything, except maybe Manchester United on a really bad day. Hate is what you Christians do; your bible is full of it.
https://cdn.meme.am/instances/12215635.jpg
About what in particular?
Manchester United? Frak em!
https://cdn.meme.am/instances/400x/52997609.jpg
@MrsMc
Aaah .. down to the asinine memes?
Surely you don’t need a list of specfic references /verses from the bible?
I would have thought you would have them all down pat, Amanda?

Merely using your example to make a comparison with someone who never ever ever, spoken a fact.
Whooooosh.
The sound the wind makes as it blows between your ears?
Zing!
You got me!
Well … it didn’t require too much expenditure.
So, you’ll be Trump man then , yes? 😉
I’m writing in William Lane Craig.
Oooh .. how exciting! I shall look out for such phrases as … Divine Command Theory.
I was going to simply say, “that was depressing.”
Or perhaps reference yesterday’s Janet Parshall radio program with Dr Karl Payne who addressed “but I’ll violate my conscience by voting for candidate X.” He said we already do it all the time because we live in a world where we interact and conduct business with people and ideas we don’t like. Is your grocer a Christian? Gas station? Bank? Your phone manufacturer? Do you agree with EVERYTHING your employer does? Life is full of choices. MANY of them are the lesser of two less than ideal choices. ALL of them have consequences. ONLY Jesus would be the perfect sinless candidate and He’s not running because He’s already King! Without the internet, we wouldn’t know a fraction of what we know about today’s candidates. We need to pray and think through the long-term consequences of how we do/don’t vote. Throughout history, our nation has been led by people with serious sin problems; we just didn’t/couldn’t read about it 24/7. ANYONE can be used by God. I believe that a candidate who has already selected a Christian as their running mate and believes that economic freedom is important (it is if you wan to raise the poorest from their poverty) is capable of being further used by God regardless of his past. I also believe that someone who labels infanticide as a “choice” and refuses to acknowledge the threat of religious teachings that call for the killing of Jews and Christians has already made it quite clear that God’s view is irrelevant.
BUT what’s REALLY startling me is this this: Ark and I agree on something. I’m not a William Lane Craig fan!
What’s your beef with Craig?
I agree with him more than I disagree so wouldn’t call it a beef. He and don’t share the same view of creation theology.
You can still be ‘a fan’ of WLC without agreeing on every point, no?
It’s no great shakes to recognise a disgusting human being. The only unfortunate thing is he manages to con so many people.
Shakes…chocolate…with whipped cream…that reminds me I haven’t had lunch! Thanks!
Yummy … and I am about to have dinner.
Stir fry and cheesecake for desert.
”For the whole of his (her political) career,( she ) he hasn’t ever, ever, ever, ever spoken a fact.”
Reminds me of William Lane Craig.
You’re a deep thinker, Ark.
Always, John. It’how your god made me.
For a fun experiment, JB, you can ask Ark to summarize one of Craig’s arguments… 😉
It’s the same he ‘s had since he became a
liar for Jesusapologist.William Lane Craig has nothing to do with Hillary Clinton. Hillary Clinton has nothing to do with Yhwh. Ark is taking JZ’s place as today’s howling wind.
…and he has nothing specific on WLC that he can mention. He’s never read a single book from any of the ‘liars for Jesus’.
But….but…
I’m sure he has watched 20 or 30 seconds of a YouTube video…
so…
I’ve been enjoying that freedom since January of 2009
JB –
When you put it that way – we can’t go wrong with Hillary (or Trump for that matter). It’s not as if we are really placing long term hope in either candidate.
Some thoughts …
“Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God.” Romans 13:1
“He changes times and seasons; He removes kings and sets up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.” Daniel 2:21
“Jesus answered him (Pilate), ‘You would have no authority over me at all unless it had been given you from above.’ ” John 19:11 (first half referring to Pilate’s authority).

Plus we’ve got this guy as an option. He’s got it goin’ on. It’s technology stupid.

~CQW
He kinda looks like Daniel Craig. That’s enough to get my vote.
I am disturbed that our citizenry has chosen these two candidates for the most powerful public office in the world. Anyone who says hooray for our side, no matter which side that is, simply isn’t being realistic. We should all be better informed, and we should demand better with our votes.
Agreed, Robert.
Casting a vote for third party feels so impotent. It’s going to take some time before these ‘other options’ to become viable.
Perhaps we’ll see the rise of the internet candidate? Totally ignored (or vilified) in traditional media channels this future candidate will build his platform using the ‘grassroots’ power of social media…?
