Here’s a picture of a rock.
There are some shapes scraped into the rock.
Why am I posting this picture?
Because it’s attached to this article.
A dude from a Canadian University thinks the shapes are early Hebrew.
He thinks this early Hebrew references Moses and Joseph.
Another dude from a University in the US thinks the Canadian dude is wrong.
I don’t care.
The majority of Earth’s population doesn’t care.
That fact warms my heart.
The few people who care will side with whichever view supports what they already believe.
Papers will be published.
Power Point slides will be projected.
Arguments will erupt.
And nobody’s opinion will change.
BUT…
We won’t have angry mobs protesting the research findings.
The cops won’t need to launch tear gas into throngs of outraged Bible scholars.
And that’s good to know in these turbulent times.
Maybe this rock can be the foundation for a movement of peaceful apathy!
Millions of people, around the world, unified by indifference.
Raising the mantra as a single voice:
“Together, we just don’t care!”
Let’s take a break from the bickering.
Let’s turn our attention to this ancient chunk of rock…
…shrug our shoulders…
…and revel in the tranquility that comes from not having an opinion on this subject.
Ahhhhhhh.
Now that’s refreshing.
