Hey! Pete Buttigieg and his husband are hoping to have a little one soon!

This is great news!

I have an announcement as well.

We’re hoping to have a little polar bear soon!

We’re so excited, we can hardly stand it!

Indiana is not the ideal place to raise a polar bear.

But love finds a way!

We’re growing a glacier in our basement.

…a small one.

We hired a full-time poacher to deliver a seal carcass every morning.

During the winter, our little carnivorous bundle can swim in the icy reservoir.

During the summer, he’ll live in a refrigerated cage.

He’ll be fine.

A frozen basement is just as good as 1,000 square kilometers of Alaskan tundra.

What’s most important is that he will be loved.

That’s why I’m in favor of paid parental leave.

The government ought to chip in to help me care for this bear.

My life. My choice. – Other people’s money.

Does this sound like a good idea?

There is little difference between raising a polar bear in a cage and raising a child with two fathers.

Except that children are waaaaaaaaaaay more important than polar bears.

If you’re uncertain about your ability to properly care for a polar bear…

…think VERY carefully about your ability to raise a child.

There is no question that children need love.

They need mothers too.

Is denying a child a mother the most loving thing to do?

  1. Therefore, motherless children who are bought up by their father is not good and not a loving thing to do, should the man go and desperately find a woman to marry and create a mother to become a normal loving family in the eyes of God?
Children need love and care, regardless of who provides it.

      1. To be fair, I don’t think that the CHILDREN’S preference is the strongest argument. (The website says “giving children a voice in the debate over family structure,” which could be misunderstood as saying “we should let children decide what’s best for them.”) Obviously, we know of Anti-Theists who argue that kids DON’T LIKE going to church, which they refer to as “giving children a voice” in the debate about Christianity. πŸ™‚

However, insofar as we mean “We need to study how children are affected when they’re raised without a father/mother in the home,” I totally agree.

        1. The polar bear’s preference is of no consequence. I want a polar bear. I will love that polar bear. Why shouldn’t I be allowed to have one?

…and don’t you dare say a polar bear in Indiana is unnatural.

          1. As long as you give the polar bear everything it wants, including choosing its own polar bear gender, of course.

          2. Just don’t go over to visit, especially with the children. πŸ˜„ We have a friend who lives parttime in Churchhill, Manitoba, Canada. That’s arguably the Polar Bear Capital of the world. One night he woke up to the sound of a polar bear trying to break into his bedroom window, to eat him (not cuddle).

I think John needs more naturally-derived children or grandchildren, perhaps?

Tips for John on how to take care of a baby polar bear:

          3. Katy– he’s actually getting another grandbaby in December! πŸ˜€

It’s not public knowledge just yet, but hopefully my sister won’t mind if I bury the news in the comment section of a post that’s a few days old. I’m just so excited I can’t help it! #AuntMandyAgain

Maybe now we won’t need the bear-tagging info. lol.

    1. Dear Mel,

Your comment is priceless. John, I think you need to bring Mel along with you on one of your comedy tours. This is a great response to the gay – but having lab kids without an essential natural parental figure – crowd.

      1. Katy, thanks, but honestly, it’s way too easy to see the absurdity in our confused culture today. Maybe I can play the “straight” guy in the act. πŸ™‚
