young female blowing huge balloon in sky

Somebody said, “There’s not a single thing you need to do to deserve food. You deserve food because you are an alive person.”

This was great news because it was lunchtime and I was hungry so I asked, “Where do I pick up my much deserved food?”

I received LOTS of answers. Below are responses to a few of them.

Aaron said: “You don’t need a free handout. You’re a world renowned comedian with a bank account to match.”

You have a different understanding of ‘world renowned’ than I do. Setting that aside, the statement was, “There is not a single thing you need to do to deserve food…” Which means my ability to pay is irrelevant. Surely my bank account status can’t make me undeserving of food.

Kathie said: “No work, no eat is such an outdated, puritanical idea. It is true that labor is required for food to be produced. But punishing people who don’t have enough to eat, regardless of the reason for that shortage, is cruel…”

You didn’t answer my question. You’re punishing me by refusing to direct me to the food I deserve. That’s cruel!

Whitney said: “There is not a single thing ANY species needs to do to deserve all of its essentials for survival…Humanity is not any more — or LESS — entitled to life than any other species on the planet.”

Not only does this NOT answer my question, you’ve made the question much, much, much, bigger. Now I need to know where the trillions of life forms on Earth should go to pick up their much deserved food.

Ghee said: “We don’t have much, but we will feed anybody, anytime. Why? Because we’re decent f****** human beings.”

Finally, an answer to my question! But I want to make sure you understand that providing my food does not make you a decent human being (f****** or otherwise). This is food that I DESERVE. You OWE ME food because I’m ‘an alive person.’ This isn’t charity or an act of kindness! You’re just doing what you’re obligated to do.

Maybe next time you will think before you virtue signal.

For anyone who is still in the dark; no human DESERVES food, water, shelter, or even a single heartbeat. Every good thing is a GIFT from God. Anyone who tells you that you’re entitled to something because you’re alive, is a liar. You should give thanks to God for whatever you have instead of griping about what you have not.

(James 1:16) Don’t be deceived, my dear brothers. Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

  1. So, if “There is not a single thing ANY species needs to do to deserve all of its essentials for survival.” And if being “deserving” means everyone should just be given free handouts, WHY is it that other beings on this planet still need to forage, hunt and WORK for their food? Why is it that those who cannot fend for themselves ultimately perish for their inabilities? Why do these bleeding hearts not roam the jungles, deserts, wastelands and ocean depths feeding these deserving beasts?

  2. Good timing once again John! Your willingness to speak truth continues to speak confirmation. Keep up the good work! bree~
