I am not in favor banning guns. I am in favor of protecting children. If you’re struggling to understand how these two ideas can coexist in a single brain, I’m going to walk you through my reasoning. I’m not happy about it though. The logic is simple enough that lawn furniture can grasp it and I’m annoyed by you humans who still don’t get it.
In the plainest, simplest language I know how to speak I am against banning guns because:
People who break the law use guns illegally.
I know the word “gun” in the above statement shut-down your ability to think rationally, so I won’t mention “guns” for a moment. Instead, let’s talk about some other things that are banned.
Drugs are banned. Despite the Federal government’s full-time commitment to a “war on drugs”, we’ve got a full blown opioid epidemic. Drugs kill a lot people. But guess what? People who break the law still buy, sell, and use drugs even though it’s illegal.
Arson is banned. It is against the law to maliciously set property on fire. Arson kills people sometimes. We could ban matches and lighters in an all out war on arson. But guess what? People who break the law will find a way to set property on fire even though it’s illegal.
Drunk driving is banned. There are stiff penalties for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. Sometimes, people even lose their driver’s license! But guess what? People who break the law keep driving drunk even after they’ve lost their license (which means it’s illegal).
Are you catching on yet? No? Okay…
Burglary is banned. You are not allowed to break into other people’s houses and steal their stuff. But guess what? People who break the law commit burglary even though it’s illegal.
Assault is banned. It’s illegal to physically harm another person. But guess what? (Seriously…you’re still clueless?) People who break the law assault other people even though it’s illegal.
Illegal immigration is banned. It’s illegal to enter the United States illegally. You probably think this particular law is horribly immoral so it’s okay to ignore it. And…you’ve just made my point. People who break the law will enter the country illegally even though it’s banned. And people like you believe breaking this law is “the right thing to do”. You have demonstrated the uselessness of banning things. Congratulations!
Calling for a gun ban doesn’t make you a caring person. It makes you an sanctimonious nitwit. A gun ban will not stop school shootings. A gun ban will do nothing to protect children. If you’re still confused about this, I can’t help you. I will council you to at least stop talking about gun control in public because you’re making a fool of yourself. And if you’re truly concerned about the welfare of our society you should stop voting for people who think like you. Find candidates with whom you disagree and vote for them instead.

You’re not getting it, man. Australians, like all other Western nations, actually care enough about their kids to try and prevent them getting shot. Americans (the ‘vangies, at least) have bigger fish to fry — it’s aborted fetuses that exercises their moral outrage.They’re not about to let a bunch of dead public school kids take precedence over what’s really important here: guns, God, and the pursuit of individual liberty.
JB really cares about the kids. He really, really does, that’s how big a guy he is. But why should everyone else have to pay for the sins of the few? That s**t only applies when it comes to Original Sin.
Australian nutters cannot legally own guns, American nutters can legally own as many as they like, people in Australia are tested, licenced and assessed if they are fit to own a gun, people in America just have to have the cash and be able to find the local gun shop, Australians are required to keep their guns locked in special safes to prevent accidents, Americans can leave guns lying around the house. American murder rate per a million people is 4 times higher than Australia.
What is obvious here? Are you saying you cannot work this out?

Yes, they want do that, but people who break laws would still manufacture and keep guns illegally.
I think what John is saying is that you can’t expect lunatics to obey the law. In my opinion the most logical solution to gun violence would be to ban guns from mentally ill people, this ,of course, would be labeled as discriminatory. But to change this country you’re going to offend people, beccause far to many people care about feelings than actual change.

The fact is that every country that has restricted access to guns has seen mass shootings decline, or in most, stop all together. Gun related crime drops significantly. Even suicide numbers drop. I should point out, I live in Australia were guns are not banned but are heavily controlled. All automatic and semiautomatic guns are banned. Since the Gun control laws we have seen a sharp decline in gun related crime and suicides. At the time when the Gun laws where changed many people had been against it, with many of the same arguments that I hear in the US today. Just offering a different point of view. As I am not a US citizen I do not have the right to force my views on you.

(BTW: Cows farting helps grass and trees to grow, so zero carbon people revolve in close mental orbit with gun banneroids. The reason why Zero Carbon caught on is because policies enacted around that have made Al Gore and his buddies $ Billions. Follow the money…)

Is it possible that the people who want to ban guns want to stop the manufacturing of guns and get rid the existing guns.
