Chris Bell is running for the U.S. Senate in the great state of Texas. The main reason I’m not voting for him is because I live in Indiana. I’m not allowed to vote for Texas Senators. Even if I lived in Texas I’d never vote for Chris Bell because I don’t like to be manipulated.
I don’t know how I ended up on Chris Bell’s campaign email list. My guess is that somebody keyed in the wrong email address. The dozens of personal emails I’ve gotten from Chris are all addressed to, “James”. Normally, I would unsubscribe from this mailing list since voting for Chris Bell would require me to commit voter fraud and I won’t go that far to support any political candidate.
I didn’t unsubscribe from Chris’s list because his emails are astonishing. Seriously. I’m fascinated that a candidate for the U.S. Senate is communicating such a flimsy, petulant, campaign platform. According to Chris, the reason I should vote for him is essentially, “Donald Trump is awful.”
I visited his website and discovered this quote on the front page:
“Now, Chris is running for US Senate because Texas needs a Senator who will represent all Texans, not just the super-rich and well-connected, and who will follow their own moral compass to stand up for what is right.”
Chris Bell – Candidate for United States Senate
Chris Bell is allegedly a lawyer. I’ll take him at his word about that and draw a few conclusions. Lawyers are intelligent people. Lawyers are good communicators. So Chris Bell knows that, “following his own moral compass” is NOT, “representing all Texans.” Chris Bell’s “own moral compass” represents just one Texan – Chris Bell.
Comments like this are pretty common in Bell’s emails. His campaign panders to a specific type of voter – dumb people. The most recent email I received starts like this:
“It’s been more than a month since the House of Representatives voted on Articles of Impeachment against President Trump—and we still have a Tweeter in Chief who is undermining our Democracy and trampling on every idea of civil decency.
Enough is enough—it’s time to put a stop to it. Click here to chip in.
Chris Bell – Candidate for United States Senate & Panderer to Low Information Voters
Remember, Chris is a lawyer. So he knows that his fellow Democrats sat on the Articles of Impeachment which delayed the proceedings in the Senate. (I’m NOT a lawyer and I understand this.) As a lawyer, Chris also knows that accusing the President of “undermining the Democracy” is supposed to be accompanied by evidence. He’s supposed to explain what crimes Trump has committed.
Rather than explain anything, Chris tells me to “chip in” some money because “enough is enough.” If I was as dumb as Chris thinks his constituents are, I’d send cash toot-sweet! The problem for Bell is that a guy like me knows there’s nothing a Senator can do to stop Trump for “trampling on every idea of civil decency” (whatever that means). Senators are not X-Men.
Did you know that?
Did you know that your elected officials are mere mortals, just like you? Politicians can’t obliterate corruption with legislation. Even if Bell wins the election in a landslide, there’s not one thing he can do to stop the “Tweeter in Chief.” Candidates like Bell are counting on you to be stupid.
That’s why I’m trying to return to Washington—I know what it takes to hold people accountable and operate with honesty and integrity.
Chris Bell – Candidate Who Hopes You’re An Imbecile
Chris Bell, is a lawyer from Texas who’s soliciting funds in order to acquire political power. A person who operates with “honesty and integrity” would not fill up my inbox with messages telling me that Donald Trump is ruining my life. Like I said, politicians are mere mortals. Donald Trump is not my problem and Chris Bell is not the solution.
Hopefully, the people of Texas are sharp enough to see through emails like this:

…footnote: It will be interesting to see if I get any more emails from Bell. If I don’t, hat-tip to whoever monitors the integrity of his email list.

We are now a divided State. Democrats vs Republicans. Read Donald Trump’s ads. He to sends jeers and asks for money donations. Nothing is old that will not be made new.
If you use Tweeter in Chief in emails about the President to get people to vote for you. You should be kicked out of the race.
Well stated John. Of course, it’s not just this Bell guy. I’ve said for years that if I was a democrat, I would be insulted by their patronizing political ads.
