When people who claim there is no God talk about death – they always reference Innocent Children.
They ONLY reference Innocent Children.
It didn’t upset them when Osama Bin Laden died.
None of them asked, “How can a loving God stand-by and allow Sadistic Terrorists to be killed?”
But when a child dies, God needs to explain Himself – PRONTO!
Which makes Christians panic!
We say, “No! No! God is good all the time! He didn’t kill that child!”
Then we blather about sin and free will and “the fall”.
We become defense lawyers making the case that God doesn’t kill people.
Stop doing that.
We’re going to lose the case.
God killed every child that has ever died throughout history.
Every. Single. One.
In fact, God is directly responsible for the death of every person who ever lived.
Every. One.
It’s helpful to keep this in mind for when heathen quote Old Testament passages like this one:
“Why is my lord weeping?” asked Hazael.
“Because I know the harm you will do to the Israelites,” he answered. “You will set fire to their fortified places, kill their young men with the sword, dash their little children to the ground, and rip open their pregnant women.”
Hazael said, “How could your servant, a mere dog, accomplish such a feat?”
“The Lord has shown me that you will become king of Aram,” answered Elisha.
2 Kings 8:12
That’s Elisha (the ‘Man of God’) explaining what God is going to allow to happen to the Jews (‘God’s People’).
Instead of tap-dancing around the truth that is obvious to every wicked, God-hating heathen – own it.
Say this: “Yes. God kills people. Not just some people. God kills ALL people.”
*pause for dramatic effect*
Then say: “God is reason that people are alive in the first place. Not just some people. God gives life to ALL people.”
That’s what Christians believe, isn’t it?
Don’t be timid about giving God credit for the things He does.
God isn’t timid.
The Lord said to him, “Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord?
Exodus 4:11
It’s repeated over and over and over and over in the Bible.
From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him, though he is not far from any one of us. ‘For in him we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’
Act 17:26
Pagans are arrogant fools.
They reason against the One who gave them minds.
They raise their fists to the One who gives them strength.
They blame God for death and refuse to praise Him for life.
God didn’t consult with you before He brought you into the world.
He doesn’t need your opinion about when it’s time to take you out.

I always thought of this argument as'”You didn’t prove that God doesn’t exist, you just raised the question of whether He’s good or not”. I’ve also asked the question, “If God were to immediately remove all the evil from the Universe, who among us would be left?”
I asked that to the expanse of the Internet. So…
Good that you are taking ownership of your loving God’s evil side. I see the death of 20,000 starving and sick children every day as a very painful and an extremely sad process for them to suffer, I also see any person who is treated as a slave, degraded, abused, raped, brutalised and tortured or someone who dies in agony due to any reason such as an accident and suffering over any amount of time as nothing but evil.Did your God not think this suffering was not required when he designed everything? I think he is either has a serious personality disorder or my pick is you religious persons have all been the willing victims of a very clever con job.
I would ask a follow-up question but if you’re running true to form, you’re already gone from this conversation never to return.
Go ahead and ask the question, for the sake of anyone who has never heard “Your God is cruel” before…
So does God exist or not? After the answer to that, I could go on to discuss the other things.
I think what is left out is that the focus here is pinpointed to life on this earth. No doubt that’s what you were writing on, so I totally get it. But, I think the issue is that in our churches (which have the sole purpose of training and equipping the saints) not enough training happens that focused that our hope is in our eternal life…that we must die to ourselves daily to follow Jesus…that we have “but if not” faith as shown by Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego who said “of course our God can save us, But If Not we still will not bow to you in worship” (paraphrased of course). The enemy of God has been at this a long time getting us to train our focus on ourselves and this life, which is but a breath in eternity. That’s what the serpent did in Eden, that’s what Enoch described in his book of the fallen angels, that’s what satan tried to do to Jesus in the wilderness. “Let me show you what you can be or have in this life, you don’t need God.” It’s tactics are the same. So, I think we do a great disservice by focusing on this life. If more people understood (me included) what it truly means to lay down my life for Christ, and forgetting not His benefits, then we don’t take the victim approach to this life but rather we embrace “live is Christ, and to die is gain.” I don’t think we understand that “we ARE seated in Heavenly places.” I personally believe our purpose here on this earth, besides being the conduit that God uses more than not to reveal Himself to the world, is to also praise God in the midst of trials. Our praising God in trial is punishment to the powers of Darkness, as scripture tells us., because it reminds them that their time is limited and they are reminded that eternity in torment is awaiting them. Testing, trial, etc. is absolutely necessary to God’s plan, and His rewarding of faith. I don’t think we talk or teach on that enough…probably because it doesn’t fill the pews with people that aren’t “all in.” Thanks for posting, John! Very thought provoking!
“But if not” is powerful. It’s also a very difficult perspective to maintain.
Thanks for commenting, Aaron.
As always John you are brutally truthful. The problem most people have with the truth you so bluntly laid out is it doesn’t feel good. It doesn’t line up with the narrative that many people, who claim to be Christians, believe about God, which is He is all love and only does good (from our perspective) in our lives. People generally do not like the sovereignty of God in our lives.
I hear you.
The truth is either brutal or beautiful depending on which part you’re emphasizing. God gives life. That’s not bad news at all.
I get frustrated when Christians let the heathen control the narrative. Our testimony is supposed to be “to die is gain”. Either we trust God with our lives or we don’t.
Mourners say that God’s a lie.
When young and restless people die,
Others shout in anger “Why?!
I know better than that Guy”
Explain to them – why even try?
They’d only get more gruffly wry.
Also John, does God roll the die?
You’re drawing ever more nigh
To seeing the effect of the butterfly
Is controlled by the “big man in the sky”
I see what you did there!!!
😁😁😁😁
I’m glad you appreciate my approach.
I once was told by a spiritual coach
To live a life beyond reproach.
So I crushed your critiques, like a roach. : P
… We have created a monster.
Innocent children??? There is none righteous. We are all born a sinner even the children..
I agree. No such thing as “innocent”. I was afraid that might be too much for one article. 🙂
Roughly stated, but not inaccurate.
