I heard someone say this:
“Belief in God is like cancer.”
Cancer, of course, is a bad thing.
Cancer should be removed.
Cancer harms people.
Cancer kills.
God, in contrast, is life.
Belief in God is NOT like cancer.
It cannot be surgically removed.
“His brain is filled with Faith! We must operate immediately!”
Belief in God is like gender.
It is programmed into every cell in the body.
It saturates a person.
It defines a person.
You can’t ‘remove’ it.
You can’t alter it.
You can deny it, but that doesn’t change anything.
Everybody believes in God.
I know this because “…what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse.” (Romans 1:19)
Denying your belief in God is like denying your gender.
It is rebelling against reality.
Rejecting truth will eventually kill you.
Which means…denying belief in God is like cancer.
