Meet the Comics

Ken Davis

An award winning author of 12 books, Ken is one of the most sought after motivational and inspirational speakers in the galaxy. He's also quite funny. Ken is a master storyteller who will encourage you to live fully alive! He's also an unreliable guide, so if he offers to lead you on a hike, politely decline and suggest some other activity like checkers or napping.

Vacay_John

John Branyan

The genius who masterminded "Vacay with Comics," Branyan hopes to someday be so successful that he won't have to write his bio himself. John's comedy was awarded Focus on The Family's "Best of The Year" in 2016. His hosting of "The Newlywed Game" has been described as "Epic" by Michael W. Smith. (...he'll be hosting that game during this Vacay.)

Vacay David

David Pendleton

David's comedy garners standing ovations everywhere he performs. He's been tested by audiences of all ages and proven to be both hilarious and water-resistant up to 30 meters. A virtuoso ventriloquist (yes, that's a thing), David will make you believe anything can talk. His lips never move, but if you watch closely, he does blink once in awhile.

Vacay Bob

Bob Smiley

Bob's resume speaks for itself because it's a trained, bilingual parrot. When he's not performing comedy on a stage somewhere, he's performing comedy off-stage to test the patience of his friends and family. Bob is what happens when coffee drinks too much coffee. His manic performance will leave you smiling and exhausted. Bob is on the endangered species list so do not disturb him while he's nesting.

Daren Streblow

If Daren's wit and charm don't make you a fan, then you will at least appreciate him for his height. The creator and host of the syndicated "Daren Streblow Comedy Show," Daren assaults funny bones with an aggressive gentleness that must be seen to be understood. Daren lives in Minnesota, where ticks are the size of dinner plates, and mosquitoes regularly lift children out of strollers. He likes camping in Indiana.

Vacay Kristin

Kristin Weber

Kristin is the kind of girl you want to take home to meet your mother. You should introduce her to your father, brother, great aunt, nieces, nephews, and next door neighbor, too. She's delightful. Her homeschool quirkiness will captivate you. And she plays the accordion just like she's ringing a bell. She rings a bell like she's playing an accordion.

About the Location

Our vacation spot sits right on the edge of beautiful Cedar Lake, on the grounds of Cedar Lake Ministries. A serene body of water that has never experienced a tsunami or shark attack, Cedar Lake is the ideal place to disconnect from stress and recharge your spirit. With the understanding that you will behave yourself and refrain from questionable activities like building doomsday machinery or conducting radiation experiments, this idyllic location welcomes you to enjoy the numerous amenities it offers.

Kandy Kabin

While we do not recommend this quaint little building be used to teach spelling, we wholeheartedly endorse it when you've got a hankering for a sweet treat. Grab a candy bar, soda, or souvenir then head to the back room for a game of ping-pong or round of Euchre. (If you're unfamiliar with Euchre, somebody will teach you how to play and this alone will make the entire weekend worthwhile.)

Dining Room

Nothing beats a great meal at a table with a window overlooking a lake. But since the number of tables near windows is limited, you might have to settle for a great meal at a table in the middle of the room. If you stand, you can still see the lake over the heads of those people at the good tables. No matter where you sit, the food is fantastic and the atmosphere will be festive and fun. Guaranteed!

Activities

There are millions of fun activities! (Actually, that's grossly exaggerated. There are lots of activities, but the total is substantially less than a million.) A few of the fun things you can do are: human foosball, ladderball, volleyball, 9-square, basketball, cornhole, Kan Jam, kayaking, laser-tag, canoeing, swimming, hiking, board games, archery, rock climbing, and tomahawk throwing, but NOT tomahawk catching.

Torrey Auditorium

Up close is the proper way to describe your experience at every show in Torrey Auditorium. No balcony seats. No balcony either. This intimate setting is the perfect venue for comedy. Expect to hear some great preaching and fabulous music as well. It's quite likely there will be puppets at some point, so plan accordingly.
